All breaks for all arrivals
This is the most beautiful place. Very few cabins so it feels exclusive and peaceful. The lake is wonderful and the walk up behind the site to sit on top of the peak allows you to see the whole of the lake - it really is breathtaking. The manager of the site is fantastic, warm welcoming and happy to offer advice on places to go. The cabins are new and there are a few teething problems like the wifi isnt amazing so best not to expect to do any work whilst you are there...
Maybe a bbq or two on site would be an added benefit
I highly recommend a visit
Lovely relaxing break, staff really helpful and friendly.Would stay here again.
Fantastic base to explore the lakes.
Beautiful spot near the lake away from the road - there is a footpath to the lake for interesting walk, one can swim off the jetty or access small sandy beaches, good cafe/restaurant/shop at Torver nearby (you need to drive rather then walk).
The site is well managed, lodges are well equipped. The feel is a bit communal. Dogs are allowed. One excellent thing that it is very very quiet at night. We stayed for a long weekend in July with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The site took delivery of a lodge and blocked the only way in and out without pre warning.
The accommodation itself was more than acceptable; it was clean and furnished to a good standard; very comfortable with microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, 2 bathrooms/toilets, terrace to the master bedroom, verandah off the kitchen/diner/living area. The only disapointment was having to make up the beds ourselves although clean linen was provided as advertised.
The Holiday park was somewhat a building site; a fire was lit and left unattended; it appeared to have building waste on it; workmen were on site for at least 3 of the days; building materials were on site; it was not a safe environment for children with no separation of the 'building area' to keep inquisitive youngsters away; a new but unused large propane tank was 'parked' next to the lodge we occupied.
Very little for the children to do on-site; a walk up the hill proved difficult as the paths were overgrown; the Lake is across the road with some access to the shore if you walk through the woods; the reality is that you would travel to Coniston village itself to access the lake properly.
No facilities (pub, restaurant, shops) within walking distance.
When the buliding work (new lodge/s) is completed it will probably be nicer.
Not sure what has to be done to qualify for the David Bellamy award, the old oil drum in the ditch seemed to detract from it.
Been twice now. Fantastic.
Lodges are really nice and clean and owner is very helpful. Site is located away from towns, so it is very quiet. Lake is couple minutes away, same as mountain. Keep in mind that you'll need to use a car to reach food store or a pub. There is free WiFi available, which is handy as my mobile phone wasn't getting any signal from O2. I would definitely use Crake Valley again.
Fabulous lodge, very well equipped . Danny was the most helpful and friendly site manager. Only gave 8 for location because had granddaughter with us so no kiddies facilities which we knew when we booked but would have been a 10 if just me & husband for peaceful site. Wi Fi and freesat TV was an added bonus.
Spent a wonderful week near Coniston. Crake Valley accommodation was very nice, clean and comfortable.
Great holiday park perfect for fell walking, dogs and a good base for other attractions. The only down side was the work being done for a new chalet. This disturbed the peaceful site.
The site itself or at least our mobile home was surrounded by trees giving a very claustaphobic feel.
We loved our holiday. The lodge was very nice & Danny was friendly & helpful. The setting was gorgeous & we loved that the lake was a stones throw away so we didn't really need to go anywhere else. The only issue we had was that there was some work being done with diggers & cranes so it wasn't as peaceful as we hoped. We would still stay there again as its a lovely place.
Crake valley is a lovely site, lush greenery surrounded by lovely hills.
The lodges are off a wonderful standard, very nice inside and kept too a really high standard.
The staff at Crake Valley are so helpful and a pleasure to interact with. I can't recommend Crake Valley enough and I'm looking forward to another break there already.
Crake Valley is a lovely peaceful park in a gorgeous area just opposite Coniston Water. The friendly owner Danny meets you on arrival and takes you to your lodge.
Wi-fi is now available and was a nice bonus.
We will definitely return to this park as it has everything we needed plus very dog friendly and we had so many places to explore within easy reach.
