Very nice relaxing holiday was close to main towns and seaside resorts just alittle close to a main road for my liking with odd traffic noise
Enjoyable time.hot tub. a shame.local pub has closed down.
A handful of lodges next to the A22 road, noisy. Lodge itself was okay although needed some additional curtains, especially in the shower room. Not much privacy lodges very close to each other.
lovely lodge with hot tub , just in the middle of nowhere .
lodge was lovely very well equipped and the hot tub was just fab :-)
We booked to stay here in August and considering it was a beautiful, new lodge with the added bonus of a hot tub we thought it was great value for money in the school holidays!
We were just after a nice base for our holiday and this was ideal as Eastbourne and Hastings were not too far away in the car. We ventured out everyday with our 2 children and then got to relax in the hot tub in the evenings.
There is nothing onsite except a laundrette but this was not an issue for us as we like to relax in the evenings anyway. We read lots of comments about the busy road nearby being noisy before we went so were unsure what to expect. However it only seemed busy at rush hour in the morning and early evening, and we were either having breakfast or dinner in the lodge, or still out and about at these times so it wasn't an issue for us. And in the evening when we were in the hot tub, the few cars that did go by were not very loud.
We only met Jo onsite while we were there as we didn't have any problems during our stay and she was lovely and very helpful. We arrived late at the lodge as we had a wedding to attend in the day, but she still came out to us and showed us around and told us all we needed to know.
All in all we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again!
If you are just looking for a base in this area, in a lovely lodge with the added luxury of a hot tub then this is the place for you. If you like to stay onsite and have all the amenities on-hand then look elsewhere, but for us it was PERFECT!!
Nothing at park itself and no open space.
Would benefit from some landscaping.
Nothing within walking distance - pub on corner is long term closed.
Spent 5 days at Golden Cross, visited Brighten and East Bourne, found lovely places to eat at the Marina recommend this area...plenty of history. The pleasure palace was really fasinating.
Very clean and well equipped lodge. Would be nice to get fresh towels half way through a 7 day stay. Excellent base for Eastbourne and Brighton. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Positives: lodge was lovely, beautifully furnished, superbly resourced (washer/dryer, dishwasher, all cleaning materials, and tea/coffee on arrival) and spotlessly clean. Owners/staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were even offered clean bedding and towels for our second week! Hot tub was fabulous and was kept immaculately clean by very polite and discreet staff. Location is central to many great places; Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings etc.
Negatives: On a busy road. Nothing nearby to visit so had to drive everywhere. Pub next to site was always closed. Local pubs were very busy and had to book tables to eat. Shop opposite frequently ran out of stock necessitating a drive to nearby supermarkets.
Loved every minute!
Nice clean lodge on a pleasant site. Lodge is well equipped and very comfortable, hot tub is a good feature and we used it just about everyday. Shame about the Golden Cross pub being closed, the site appears to advertise that the pub is open, however this is currently not the case.
Staff very helpful and polite. No amenities on sit, it is just a plot with lodges, nowhere to eat out on site you need to drive to get anywhere.
The lodge was lovely, very clean and well maintained. There was a laundry sign , but no laundry ....and the fridge was really noisy it vibrated onto the twin bedroom wall every night.
Situated in a good place for exploring
fantastic hot tub very quiet area ideal for visiting local resorts the lodge is home from home
