Not really a complaint but we kept the heating on during the day and struggled to sleep at night. Our own fault, just make sure if you are staying in these cabins you are aware that they do retain the heat well.

We stayed at Griffon Forest for four nights the week before Christmas and we're very please to see a Christmas tree on our lodge, nice touch. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff and when we had a couple of small problems with the lodge they were fixed almost immediately. The lodge itself was immaculate warm and cosy and plenty big enough for two adults and children and one small dog. The hot tub was ready on arrival and very clean and easy to operate the decking was getting a little tired and was slippy but the lodges are 18 years old. We liked the fact we couldn't see another lodge from decking as they have been really well spaced out and not crammed in.
The walks around the park are very nice but short and flat. We had several visits to Tykes restaurant along the dimly lit pathway (take a torch) which is a beautiful place again with very friendly staff. The meals are a little pricey but worth it.
All in all a good break and we will definitely be back again.
Great location, stayed a few times will definitely be back

Designed for a bigger family, we preferred a poachers lodge for our romantic getaway, still a fantastic lodge though

Floors badly need sanding and re varnishing they look mucky because of the wear and tear. Sofa a bit worn lacking support and giving me a sore back. Otherwise no complaints. Loved the part sunken hot tub, so easy to get in and out of. What a beautiful sight with secluded properties.

The cottage provided everything we needed for our stay
We usually stay in the Poachers lodges when we stay at Griffon Forest and its adultsonly no pets , but stayed in Keepers this time and its a pet friendly lodge . The lodge was a little tired looking and a few cobwebs around but overall it was clean. On the last night we stayed, it was a little chilly so we put fire on and there was a strong smell of dog wee. I reported the following morning and the lady in reception couldn't apologise enough and said they would sort it that day .

We had a very relaxing time at Griffon Forest.
Our favourite bits were the walks for the dogs, the badger watching (which became very addictive!) and the locality of a very nice, but unforgiving golf course.
The downsides are only minor gripes really. The decking that surrounds the hot tub is a little worse for wear. It could do with a refresh, I'm guessing that the number of guests getting in and out of the hot tubs rots the wood away a bit, so that could do with being looked into.
We also found that we were a major attraction to slugs on the decking at night. Obviously we are in a forest, so nature is expected, but the single light out by the decking is very dim and walking bare footed on the decking was sometimes squelchy. Not too pleasant. It would highly benefit Griffon Forest if they could somehow prevent slugs, or improve the lighting at ground level so that you can see and dodge the sluggage.
Our lodge was pretty close to the main reception / bin area and during the day there was a lot of lorry, van and digger noises. Some left owner-less but ticking over for extended periods of time. Not a huge issue again, but it just took the edge of the serenity of the place. I'm sure that if you get a lodge further down the site, you would have less of these issues.
Thanks for a relaxing break Griffon Forest. I'm sure we will be back some day.
