Lodge tired and more expensive than private alternatives in the area. No cleaning and washing up means in kitchen, no welcome pack.

When we got there I had to clean the sofas and all the kitchen equipment and all the sides as there was food on them and the upstairs bath was dirty and full of sand

Our Lodge was clean and although it was basic it had most things we needed. Shower pressure very low but manageable. Cream carpets were a mistake and made the Lounge look less clean than it was...especially in rainy parkland with no door mats to wipe wet or muddy feet!

Great size accommodation with everything we needed, but was disappointed with quality of furnishings (carpet in particular) and wasn't as clean as I would have expected. Could do with updating

Plenty of space in the lodge for 7 of us, great having 2 bathrooms! Layout of rooms was good, however little things such as very creaky floorboards upstairs, curtains not meeting in the middle, a temperamental lock on the patio door and cigarette butts outside was a bit disappointing.

Booked during Whitsun half term so a premium paid. The lodge had ample of everything for our party of 6 adults, 3 primary school age children and 2 infants. The lodge would benefit from a deep clean of the property, furniture and fittings. Sinks, shower and bath drainage had slow flow away and would benefit a visit from a plumber/facilities maintenance team.
The place was great - the service in Tavern for big birthday celebration lunch was really slow and disorganised- we were the only party on a sat lunchtime and waited over a good hour fir our meals. Only one guy on duty who said he knew nothing if our booking although I had called ahead and given heads up the day before so that was the only disappointing part of our stay. Food was great once it finally arrived!

Excellent location. The lodge was spacious and clean and well equipped. Sadly the entertainment was inappropriate at best, the facilities distinctly lacking. The pool a huge disappointment with a receptionist (older lady) thinking that shouting at people is an acceptable way to make requests. (12 year old attempted to go down the slide in a dive position, as she had seen some adults do- receptionist only shouted at the child)
No tackle shop either.
Stayed Friday to Monday and so few activities on.
