We stayed in silver chalet which was clean but very basic. Few things could of been improved like silicone around the bath was a bit mouldy if changed would make a big difference. On site shop closes at 6pm?Really? Sometimes not very organized with staff for swimming pool, opening at 10am? a bit late. Chef in on site restaurant was lovely, food tasty but a bit overpriced. Ilfracombe itself is absolutely gorgeous. Lots to do for kids and adults. On site kids play area is a bit of a joke, one swing and slide does not make a playground. Indoor play area is ok for kids under 5 but there was loads of older kids going on it preventing little ones from playing. Night time entertainment is good, enjoyed bingo and musical bingo. Kids show was good but for the love of God I don't know why they have get parents to get up so many times. Just let kids play and dance and let parents enjoy their drink. Kids characters were fun for kids to watch. Few people we talked to said the park and accomodation its not what they thought its going to be. Very basic for what we paid. Would definitely go back to Ilfracombe just not to this park :(

This chalet was very dated, old carpets and cupboards. The cupboard draws smelt so left the clothes in our bags. Also it had a bath but had no shower, it would cost very little to put a shower head from the bath tap.
Credit to your cleaners, it was old and dated but immaculately cleaned.
Very basic poor entertainment.

Went for Silver chalet because we thought it would be "above" the basic model. Kitchen so small with no tabletop to prepare food on. Lounge - settee holed all over one arm and seat from, I presume, a dog. Hole in carpet which had been patched very badly. Had to call maintenance out twice, once because toilet seat kept falling off - it was replaced very quickly, and once because toilet was filling to top when flushed. Problem with drains. Both these complaints were dealt with by staff very quickly and efficiently. The catering staff were excellent and the bar staff also were pleasant.

Accommodation needs updating & modernising. Otherwise it was fine.

The holiday park is somewhat dated in parts and could do with modernization that being said the silver chalet we stayed in was clean well equipped and spacious for three, the bedrooms are ample and beds fairly comfortable for most. the staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. some of the chalet furnishings was damaged eg. torn leatherette on the sofa bed which was also not comfortable to sit on and the carpet not fitted properley eg. not reaching the skirting boards! A welcome pack of tea and coffee, milk ect. would be most welcoming to all especially after a long journey. all easy things to remedy and keep on top off. great location to explore Devon and Cornwall from kids will love it.

Helpfulness of staff
I booked this budget studio apartment on an offer to use as a base to show my daughter round ilfracombe which I love. She flatly refused to stay and I agreed. It hadn't been cleaned, the cooker top was greasy, the floors not hoovered, no mattress protector on the bed, the hand basin had a dirty crack running from the left hand side to the plug and the bath was a disgrace (I wouldn't have bathed my dog in it). Cheap but no excuse for dirty.

Great location, plenty to do on site, evening entertainment passable for this type of holiday.

was a good cheap holiday for October half term break I would have been disappointed if this was our annual summer holidays , the gold apartment was ok , but not to a gold standard it was however clean , although the sofa bed was uncomfortable t sleep on and the springs had gone so was uncomfortable t sit on , also as this apartment slept six people there was not enough places to sit , just a. Broken two seater sofa, OK place to sleep but wouldn't recommend if you wanted to spend any time in the accommodation , the on site facilities were very good , and the food from chefs corner as reasonable and of a good quality , the stripeys and children's entertainment could not be faulted :) staff are al helpful and polite .
We had a lovely stay chalet was very basic but clean great location
Great for families

After reading reviews before going was a little worried. But had no need to gold apt was newly refurbished and very clean. Bed a little uncomfortable but nothing like your own bed anyway. Used swimming pool once but it felt dirty and area looked unclean. The surrounding area was gorgeous, holiday park was in a perfect place to explore.
Enjoyed our stay immensely, however we tried the indian restaurant one night and the service and quality of the food was poor. I do not recommend this part.
Our holiday was ok, The changing rooms in by the pool were awful, very small and very dirty. None of the staff seem to really care what was going on, in the pool there were other guests diving into the pool and throwing inflatables around, where it clearly states- no diving and no inflatables, and the lifeguards did nothing to stop this even though there were small children swimming in the pools, which was very dangerous.
I would not visit this park again, there are so many things that have to be fixed/ updated and the staff need a lesson in customer care.
The staff there are unfriendly and have no basic customer service skill whatsoever. They seemed more interested in working at night behind the bar than on the reception desk during the day. No apology when we had to report that the toilet was leaking and nothing said on check out not asked if we enjoyed our stay, if everything was ok etc. No apology when I had to report that the toilet was still leaking. When asked a question about why one of the swimming pools wasn't open they had no idea and I got told to ask the life guard as "she deals with all that" surely Reception is the main area of the Park and therefore should make it their business to know what's going on?
Fantastic entertainment over all was not a good park.
Food was awful not much for kids to do at all.
Have stayed at better parks.
Having read some reviews before we went I wasn't expecting too much but upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised check in wasn't meant to be until 3pm but we arrived at 1:30pm and went to the reception anyway and our apartment was ready. Having got the key we found our apartment located near to the car park and club, when we got into the apartment we were surprised as to how nice it was there was flat screen TV, leather sofa and everywhere looked clean and tidy. On closer inspection there were a few minor faults (heated towel rail not working, light bulb out and shower hose dirty) but nothing major to detract from our stay. We had booked a gold apartment at a good rate, not sure where everyone had stayed that had written bad reviews about rooms being dirty and smelly as ours was fine. We ate in the chefs corner on site a couple of times and the food was nice and plentiful and good value for money as it was well priced. The entertainment in the club was ok there was adults bingo with a kids game running at the same time to keep them entertained during the bingo, the small arcade at the back of the club room needs updating as some of the machines didn't work and were quite old. The crazy golf looked like an after thought as it had been squeezed on to the edge of the site and the playground was also very small and only suitable for small children. The location of the site was good as close to Illfracoombe centre and not far to get to Woolacoombe as well, overall for cheap break it was good.
everything was good for the price we paid for the four nights there was nothing at all to complain about APART from the beds they were so ubcomfortable we ended up coming home a day early
Basic accommodation, but used just as a base. Would stay again
Reception staff good, but need to clacdramatically on enforcing the older children who gather in the soft play area thus not allowing the toddlers to use it, I felt some of the childrens entertainment language was not appropriate.
Apartments very good but need bedside cabinets, bathroom need shelves and hanging hooks
The park was only just adequate. Having booked silver accommodation, I was expecting slightly better than budget. I am very pleased that I got the accommodation on a special offer because if I had paid full price, I would have been very disappointed. The shower didn't drain, the kitchen was not fully equipped, (I had to buy a small sharp knife...really!), and there was not enough lounge seating for three of us, let alone four which the accommodation was designed for. The children's play area was very disappointing and the kids club was awful, we went along twice during the week, both times the host was condescending to the children and it wasn't really very well organised. The pool was OK, the sauna was not hot and the bar, well didn't really have a very good choice of drinks. The location was fantastic and we enjoyed being out and about. But as for staying in this holiday park again, we wouldn't.

Wild and rugged round Hartland Point, then stretching out into wide, surf-washed sandy bays – explore one of the world’s loveliest coastlines when you stay at Hoseasons holiday parks in North Devon. Surfers and sailors flock to Woolacombe, Saunton, Croyde and Ilfracombe, and windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing and diving are all popular on this coast too, while walkers are attracted to the spectacular views along the coastal path. It’s also a working coast, and fishermen still bring their catches into harbours at Bideford and the enchanting villages of Appledore and Clovelly, whose whitewashed cottages seem to tumble down steep cobbled lanes to ancient quaysides. And when planning caravan holidays in North Devon, don’t miss a chance to take a boat trip to Lundy Island, a beautiful haven for wildlife. You’ll find great days out within easy reach of all our caravan parks. North Devon offers a great array of family attractions – life-size animated dinosaurs lurk in subtropical vegetation at Combe Martin’s Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, the Milky Way Adventure offers thrills of a more adrenaline boosting kind, and sheep races and duck trials feature in the fun at the Big Sheep.
