This is the 3rd time staying at lakeveiw ,and is very central for lots of cornwall sights and places of interest for our needs ,i understand that rhey are waiting for the investment to fullfill the plans for lakeveiw ,yes some of the furniture is looking a little tired but is still comfortable, overall our lodge was very clean and the staff could not do enough for you i have no trouble reccomending lakeveiw for your holidays . As soon as i returned home i rebooked for next year .
Terrible customer service from staff who obviously considered us 'grockles' as an inconvenience. Half the balcony fence missing but no help from staff; swimming pool and sauna out of use. Used to be a fine venue but now under new management who obviously have a money making agenda with scant concern for visitors.
The perfect location for a base to explore all that Cornwall has to offer due to proximity to A30. The lodge was clean, modern and well equipped. No Wi-Fi in lodge was a disappointment, very slow Wi-Fi in main building wasn't much better . Didn't use restaurant, spa or entertainment but used the pool once, for 30 minutes. Too small for an active swim. Had to ask for sheets and towels change after our first week and seemed it wasn't part of the standard service. Overall, worked well for our needs but doubt we would return.
had a ,ovely holiday in a well equiped lodge ,
Our stay at Lakeview was our first family holiday with our new baby boy. We had a great holiday, but we wouldn't consider returning to Lakeview to holiday again unfortunately.
The facilities within the club were satisfactory, but the staff seemed stressed & pushed to their limits. The pool was a nice size, and seemed clean enough. It varied in temperature both times we were in it, despite saying it was the same temperature both times. As it wasn't a supervised pool, there was some younger adults that came in when we were in there, bombing, swearing & bringing drinks into the pool. Of course this was irresponsible there part also.
Our accommodation was OK, but tired and could do with some work to improve it. For example, the main bathroom had loose tiles and grout missing. The Kingsize bed in the master bedroom had a double mattress on it. No headboard. There were no clear instructions how to use the washer dryer.
Most were little trivial things that we lived with, but they would need to be considered before we decided to return.
Also on our arrival we were a few hours early to check in to our accommodation, and told it would be 4pm before we could check in, but we could use the facilities in the mean time. Had we known this prior to our arrival, we would of kept our swimming things separate & accessible so we were able to entertain the children.
There was also a wedding going on on our arrival & I am not sure who felt more awkward, us for embarking on there wedding or them or intruding on our holiday?
My husband & eldest son went to see if they could have a session on the driving range to be told by the receptionist that they were short staffed & there were no balls at present, could they come back later that afternoon.
Having had years experience on a very busy holiday park, I found certain things unexceptable & not very good customer service.
Don't get me wrong it wasn't a terrible place to stay, but there was nothing outstanding that made me consider we would return.
we enjoyed our time at Lakeview. overall the accommodation was fun and different but clean and spacious. there are a few minor shortcomings in terms of facilities advertised but not available and perhaps the site needs a senior manager with an eye for attention to detail but we thought it good value for money and we would return.
The pool area is nice although there are no lockers in the changing rooms and I thought it was health & safety gone mad to insist that all children up to the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult in the pool. My 6 foot 15 year old is probably better able to look after himself in the water than I am and he certainly doesn't want his mum trailing round after him every time he wants to take a dip. I know there is no lifeguard on duty but personally I think 16 is a little too old to need babysitting!
Our kids enjoyed the tennis courts and the restaurant on site is pretty good.
I would not rush back but mainly because it is not special enough to warrant a repeat visit. We had a nice holiday there, it is good value as a family holiday and the location is great for visiting all sorts of places in Cornwall, but just a bit more thought to the condition of the lodges and the facilities at the centre would really make a big difference.
We had a lovely time with plenty of space in and around our cabin (no. 64) for family of 6.
Pitch and put area was not obvious- a little more information on outdoor area would have been good. We enjoyed the area- good to travel to both coasts.
Nice location and very helpful staff when we needed to know of A&E details. Was a little surprised that lodge was not ready when we arrived at around 4pm but we didn't have to wait too long. Some of the furniture was a little outdated in the lounge area (sofa was very uncomfortable and like sitting on the floor and tv unit was falling apart) but the lodge was spotlessly clean and there were ample towels and bedding provided. We had a lovely week and will hopefully return at some point.
A lovely location and setting but rather over priced for the facilities provided, although this may be because of the time of our stay!
Friendly and helpful staff.
Accommodation was excellent, site needs to offer a little more for families. Good base to travel Cornwall although not many local restaurants. Would go again.
The only problem was the limited menu in the restaurant. The Service from the kitchen was also slow. The waiting staff were helpful and apologetic.
The location was excellent for a quiet break, but you will need a car to go anywhere else in Cornwall. The site was wonderful, but the bar service was slow. Don't expect much from the on site entertainment. The chalet was spacious and even included an outdoor hot tub. Our chalet had 3 bathrooms, however, these need some TLC especially the floor tiles. The beds were very comfortable
Lovely place to stay, good food, friendly staff and lodges are immaculate. Could do with a little TLC in areas but would definitely stay again.
