Was a cheap holiday and got what you paid for not for fussy people
It is located great for all the local attracions like Boscatle and Tintagle, the camp is dated but clean and tidy, food in the resturant was very good and locally sorced, but not open very much at time of visit, this camp is ideal for those that want to eplore the area as we did but not for those that want attractions on site, We paided very little for 3 night stay in june and was pleasantly surprised.
I've been three times so far. I'd go again. People are excellent, accommodation really suits our requirements. Area perfect.
Was clean, spacious and in good location and free use of indoor swimming pool. Furniture a little dated but for the price no complaints
2 adults and 2 10 year olds staying. We found the receptionist very helpful and approachable. The evening entertainment was perfect for both children and adults- shame not more people there to enjoy it. Swimming pool was clean and rules adhered too by users. swimming pool changing rooms were unuasable- smelt awful
we played crazy golf and pool and table tennis- all fine. Mini arcade was ok- but could do with a re-vamp.
We stayed in a chalet- rather dated- smelt awful so continuosly aired and used room spray- which helped- bedroom damp at night- even with windows open.
But we were happy- somewhere to get sleep!! could do with a re-vamp too.
fantastic location- 30mins from the places we chose to visit- lovely views and scenery.
2nd time to visit- previous stay was in a slightly more modern apartment.
park was good for our age children but would benefit from a specific toddler/ under 's area for peace of mind of those with smaller children.
laundrette useful. all fine.
felt the bar was pricey for drinks- but ok.
Thank you, we would come again though
As mentioned in most of the previous reviews, this place is great for location and general feeling but be warned about the location, it is extremely dated, damp and dreary. you have to use this place as a place to rest in the evening and straight away in the morning... the kids disco is OK the food is OK, the swimming pool is OK, but remember the accommodation is budget and you get what you pay for, I will go back as the location awesome and it is cheap..
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Apartment was dated and tired. Location was perfect for sightseeing all around Cornwall. Would probably look for more modern accomodation next time we stay in Cornwall. Takeaway food from the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The pool isnt huge and has NO lifeguard so under 15s have to be supervised by parents.
Stayed in an apartment had a lovely time.
Basic but was a cheap holiday, kids entertainment of a nite is brilliant
Okay so the honest thing to write in this review is that are holiday was cheap and cheerful. We stayed in the 3 bedroom coach house which was clean, but damp but we were aware of the other reviews written about this holiday park and were expecting a lot worse than we found. we only really used it as a base to expire north Cornwall so for us it made a cheap holiday over half term. The kids really enjoyed the evening entertainment which was an unexpected bonus
The accommodation we stayed in was clean. The beds were made up with plenty of bedding for our arrival. The park has seen better days and is in need of some maintenance. The trees made the entrance very dark and the grass close to our accommodation was long and was only cut on the last day of our May half term stay. The location is good as a base for exploring the coast and Bodmin Moor but a car is essential as it's in the middle of nowhere. The shop at reception didn't sell much except the very basics. The bar was in the old manor house and had some original features. We had our dog with us and it's not dog friendly.
We didn't know what to expect having read some reviews before hand, we felt the accommodation was very dated but clean the surroundings where beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Our children loved the pool and entertainment, and the food in the restaurant was lovely. We would consider going back but I'd hope more improvements had been done to update the place. It was good value for the money we paid.
First week 4 adults and 3 children based in the Coach house. 2nd week 2 adults in ground floor apartment nearby. Good sized lounge in Coach house and apartment. Mattresses a little hard and 'lumpy' in apartment. Staff very efficient and pleasant. Good parking areas and food good. On the whole a good family base camp.
We were in the main house which was fine. Beds on small side - twins 2'6'', double 4' max. The children, 5, 8 and 11, enjoyed both the pool (supervised) and the playground which was very safe and we could keep an eye on them from the window. Entertainment reasonable.
Chalet was terrible. The electric shower didn't work. Bath tap didn't work. No electric fire in one of the bedrooms. The chalet was damp. Definitely wasn't a chalet for six people. The pull out bed in the lounge was awful.
