Couldn't fault it one bit. Excellent value for money
The lodge it self was clean and modern, although a little tired... Such as bathroom - every time you had a shower the bathroom floor got wet due to no seel on the bottom of the shower screen over the bath, (hazard) TV had very poor reception, no wifi, nothing on the site for kids to entertain themselves with, my children are aged 10-12 they loved the hot tub and have been on several holidays like this before. If you want to read and site-see it's perfect with beautiful surrounding areas within 40 mins each way.
the people who own it are very nice, the wifi doesnot work and you wont get a phone signal. there is literally nothing there its in the middle of nowhere, but if you just want to relax its good, or a base to drive to places from there.the lodges are very private but they do need a little bit of diy. my biggest gripe was that its so enclosed, we took the dog thinking there would be some good walks. but there isnt unless you drive to them. still enjoyed it though.
me and my boyfriend came here for his birthday and it was beautiful, we really enjoyed it! would totally recommend this place to everyone. had a great weekend :)
Everything was ok until Monday morning around 1am. There seems to be a slaughter house or something and for 4 hours straight pigs squeling. We had to leave to come home at 5am as we could not take the noise
Lovely quiet, peaceful setting.
We stayed here (lodge 6) for 4 nights as a treat for my boyfriends' birthday. We loved the location and the accommodation! The hot tub was great too. The lodge was clean, comfortable and luxurious all rolled into one. Little things could be improved such as the tiny freezer with no door but it did not take away from the holiday at all. We had a brilliant, relaxing time in the peace and quiet. This is the 4th site we have visited and the one we are most likely to return to in the very near future.
very quaint but extremely secluded no good if you don't drive, no staff in reception keys just left for you with a number to call if there was a problem hence the low staff score, lodge was beautiful inside, it had everything you needed for a peaceful weekend.
Was a lovely lodge, the bedroom was amazing, bed was comfy. Shower and bath was great. Loved the lounge area! Was extremely peaceful which was great for couples wanting to completely relax! There isn't anything at all to do there and it is in the middle of nowhere. So we got a taxi into York which was 25 pound there and the same back. Thoroughly enjoyed our romantic break! Only downside was the chairs and tables outside, uncomfortable and rusty xxx
Lodge contained everything we needed.
Sofa had stitching coming un-done on the top - made it difficult to sit on for fear of making this worse.
Other guests had not picked up after their dogs and no-one seemed to have checked on this over 2 days.
we had an amazing 3 days away to these lodges we stopped in number 7 and it was perfect, managed to find a little nissa shop just down the road and a tesco about 15mins away. Very clean, comfy beds everything is provided for a weekend even down to bin bags. Our only down fal
Lodge was beautiful but was more for modern looking rather than comfort. Upon arrival there was no check in we just got told what lodge we were in. She told us the on/off switch for hot tub. Didn't tell us how to use it properly or the sauna room either. Hot tub light didn't work so good jib we had sunlight late at night. Hot tub isn't private we were in no.15 and we could see everyone comin and leaving. Luckily we had elderly neighbours so they didn't use their hot tub but otherwise we could of had a conversation. The tv remote was falling apart and Didn't work so had to keep getting up. Lodge was very warm. The towel radiators were constantly on so was uncomfortable at night. Heating is provided but no fans or air con.
WiFi worked every now and again. Only 1 champagne glass provided. The front door was really hard to shut my other half had to spend 5mins trying to lock it. We were left a card for the park manager if we had any problems however you don't get phone signal!! They had a reception area however no one was ever there either. howeverYork is beautiful and would go again however two minds to go here again.
This a very well situated site the lodges are arranged around the lake we had a beautiful view looking on to the lake where the wild life kept us entertained. The site is very quite and well looked after.
Good location, however we were expecting a view of the pond all we got was a 7foot barrier of reeds.
We had no wifi, tried to contact owner the landline number we were given was not recognised, left 3 messages on the mobile on 3 separate days and none were answered.
The lodge location and internally itself is beautiful. Ample space for the two of us and we was welcomed with hlorious sunshine all week. The only point I would make us that I did feel that the outdoor furniture let the lodge down. For such a peaceful, lakeside setting it would have been great to have comfy outdoor furniture to make use of. Other than that I could not fault it
