Kevin and Vicki.wales. Would and will be going back to orchard lakes.we just spent a very special time,in our lives there, our 25th wedding annerversary. Could'nt have picked a better place.i recammend orchard lakes,to those seeking peace and tranquility,(Wow) what a place. Don't let anyone put you off, with the mile or so track, leading down to the lodge, one of the highlights of the orchard.thank you (Martin) for making us feel so welcome.
Lovely location if you are happy to just get away from it, but miles away from shops/pubs etc
Fabulous. Lovely and clean, well maintained, very pretty location. Surprisingly spacious and main bedroom had en-suite. Facilities excellent. Remote but close enough to walk to village. Very quiet and peaceful. Ideal for a short break or a week's holiday. Suggestions - oven gloves would have been helpful and also it was 6 berth but there were only 4 bowls.

Booked the holiday as a last minute trip and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The site has only 3 cabins which gave us the peace and quiet we were sicking. It is was very spacious and comfortable for the three of us with a friendly attendant to help us with local information.
Managed to do a bit of fishing and enjoyed the serenity of the place.
The village as only one butcher, a village shop and two pubs so don't expect everything to be available.
Plenty of National Trust properties to view if prepare to travel a bit.
Didn't have a problem with the long track driveway but someone with a low car may be not so please.
All in all had a very good time.
not very clean dust and dirt in most rooms, tv & dvd control and instructions missing
Great lodge, great location, great fishing !

We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter 2015. The lodges are very well equipped, everything very clean and overlooking a lovely lake. However I must mention the "road" leading up to the log cabins. You basically drive through an orchard / field to get there. Great if you have a 4x4 and ok if it hadn't been raining. Not so good for us in a sports car. We caught the bottom of our car several times and then got stuck in the mud. The owner says he likes to keep it rural? Just be prepared!

Wild and rugged round Hartland Point, then stretching out into wide, surf-washed sandy bays – explore one of the world’s loveliest coastlines when you stay at Hoseasons holiday parks in North Devon. Surfers and sailors flock to Woolacombe, Saunton, Croyde and Ilfracombe, and windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing and diving are all popular on this coast too, while walkers are attracted to the spectacular views along the coastal path. It’s also a working coast, and fishermen still bring their catches into harbours at Bideford and the enchanting villages of Appledore and Clovelly, whose whitewashed cottages seem to tumble down steep cobbled lanes to ancient quaysides. And when planning caravan holidays in North Devon, don’t miss a chance to take a boat trip to Lundy Island, a beautiful haven for wildlife. You’ll find great days out within easy reach of all our caravan parks. North Devon offers a great array of family attractions – life-size animated dinosaurs lurk in subtropical vegetation at Combe Martin’s Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, the Milky Way Adventure offers thrills of a more adrenaline boosting kind, and sheep races and duck trials feature in the fun at the Big Sheep.
