Overall impression of the park is that it needs work. The staff were friendly enough but the majority of the static caravans (including the one we had) are dated. We paid for a Purn Silver 4 and expected better for the money. It looked and smelt old, you could tell it had been smoked in regularly at some point in its (long) history.
The site is nicely situated close to Weston-Super-Mare but there should be a note that the park is situated on a busy road. Our caravan was right next to the road which was surprisingly busy throughout the night.
Our caravan was not clean on arrival, all surfaces needed cleaning before use, there were muddy footprints on the kitchen floor and hair shavings in the shower.
At some point some effort has been made to re-decorate the caravan and the attempt was poor with holes in the walls showing electrical cables and terminal blocks. One of the cupboards had no floor or wall, just insulation sheets.
The park has an exit barrier which requires a swipe card and a £10 deposit. I cannot for the life of me think why I should hand over more money just to leave the park during our stay, even if you do get it back at the end of your stay.
Given the state of the caravan we decided not to attempt to use any of the other facilities on site. The additional charges for the swimming pool felt excessive.
Me, my Husband and our little dog had a great time at Purn Holiday Park, The clubhouse wasn't far to walk and all the staff and regulars were all really friendly, The prices of both food and drink were very reasonable, and the food was excellent, There was a nice field that has a river running along the bottom of it and I walked my dog around that everyday, It was lovely seeing the Swans in the river.
The Holiday park was very flat and this was great for my Husband as he walks with a stick and is unable to walk far, this is why this park suited us so well.
Disappointed there was no free wifi.
Also disappointed there was no site security as on the Saturday night people in the tent behind was making lots of noise and when I asked them to stop singing they got aggressive and shoved me.
Didnt use any of the insite facilities but there seems to be everything you need. Two pubs within walking distance. Weston-super-mare is a 5 minute drive and its beautiful (: the site is lovely and quiet, both caravans i've stayed in we're nice. My only complaint would be the check in and out times
Laundry room was tooexpensive. Advertised fishing but wasn't any at the time and fishing season had started. Statics were in bad condition and had to move van due to bad communication. Wasn't alot for a child to do. Overall I wouldn't recommend for the value of statics and the park itself.
second time we have stayed much better now after change of ownership.
swimming pool warm and a good size. surprised not included in cost of holiday.
food ok in clubhouse. T V reception not at all good.
Very friendly staff and good customer service, shame the holiday park did not match their standards. The club house was too small for numbers of holiday makers. The shop was technically not a shop as it had no range or depth of stock. Accomodation was good and clean. The issue were the facilities - outside toilet for clubhouse, Club house too small for the number of people. We could not get in the club house every day from 7pm due to overcrowding and no tables. So we all went to the local pub (hungry horse)200 yrds away and spent all our evenings there. The club house must have lost £100 a night as we spent our money for food and drinks there, shame.
staff not that helpful or pleasant at all. Location very poor no shops close by at all and the shop on site was very very poor. Caravans need a good clean carpets are dirty slight smell to them. We stayed in white 11 very unpleasant smell outside the van sited on a very busy main road so lots of traffic noise and from the pub as well.
enjoyed our stay
Very good holiday visiting family. Only complaint, as pensioners only wanting the odd swim in the pool, thought the cost was a little high.
The site needed some tlc. Scruffy in places. Recycling terrible. Far too much rubbish about.
The holiday park needs some serious attention, very run down with rubbish littered all around our caravan to empty oil cans and an old pub board sign , broken down fences . Caravan next to a very busy main road so very noisy even through the night . Had to pay a deposit for a key fob to get in and out of the gate to the park, and it was extra charges to use the pool . Really bad or no phone signel although you can pay extra for their Wi-Fi .
Caravan was dated but clean , and it was dog friendly which was good . Good location to get to western super-mere which was only 5 minutes away buy car and other attractions but I wouldn't stay at this park again .
good but didn't get purn 6 as paid for got purn 4 but made do
Wonderful staff, close enought to Weston Pier. Great prices in the bar. Not enough entertainment for children
We were under the impression it would be a new caravan but it wasn't .
