Kettle unusable full of limescale, guttering dripping all night long in need of repairs. Advitised open fire but couldn't use it.... staff when able to get in touch were quite rude and unhelpful. Very noisy not much privacy in hot tub and not well set out walking to hot tub nowhere for towels gown, not enough towels in room had to ring again.... nowhere to get food from unless driving. Even shop wise. TV signal terrible couldn't watch anything for more than 10 mins kept cutting out. Door handle loose. Not easy to get in after 8 as not well lit.

The sofa was a bit hard to sit on as it could do with re-stuffing the cushions but the whole apartment was lovely with a mixture of furniture and we loved the shutters on the windows :-)

Weekend at fawlty towers! We arrived at 7.30pm - the outside was covered in scaffolding, we walked to into the entrance hall and met with a room stuffed with builders boots, suitcases, furniture, personal belongings and a vase of dead flowers in the hall. Luckily our apartment door was open. It was an internal door to our apartment so very thin. We could hear the family arguments of those living upstairs in the private quarters throughout the night. The apartment was clean and we had (what we thought was) a private garden with hot tub albeit in amongst a building site so an eye sore. We slept well and woke early to music blasting upstairs and banging. We went in the hot tub to escape - builders walked through the private garden. Disappointing. Aside from the noisy neighbours upstairs the caravans opposite and along the (genuinely beautiful) driveway in seem to be part of a retirement complex although I understand there is a campsite nearby - I generally felt a bit out of place.

Ranksborough is lovely the magnificient hall is really grand and beautiful - we stayed in the Hall Apartment which was our second stay there.
The apartment itself has everything you need and we loved it the only issue we had was the bed - it was broken we did tell them and they said that it had never been reported before however looking through the reviews on our return we saw that someone had previously said the same! So not sure if they just hadn't informed the powers that be? however as an owner/manager I would make it my job to look through the reviews myself and address any shortcomings. The bedroom was very cold also - it was very cold outside I must admit but the radiator in the bedroom didn't seem to be functioning to its potential so we had the fan heater on in there most evenings. The setees have also seen better days so I think all in all it needs a little TLC and updating. Then it would be amazing again :)
The walk into Langham is short and there are two great pubs there.
Its central for getting out and about and visiting lovely little villages and historical places like Burgley House which was well worth a visit.
