We really enjoyed our stay here. Yes the decor is outdated, but it had everything we needed and was very clean. Everybody was friendly and helpful. My only problem was that they did an hour of hyping the kids up in the evening then an hour of bingo where they wanted the kids to be silent and not mucking about. That didn't work for us as I have two small kids who were by that point very excitable. The facilities were good, and the boys loved the pool. I think it would be better if you can drive as it isn't close to a good beach but the one at Paignton was brilliant! We loved brixham harbour aswell. There's lots to do in the area, so aslong as your not planning on mainly being on site it's a great place to use as a base. The beds were comfy and the bedding provided was clean. There are supermarkets not too far away as the shop on site was expensive but this is to be expected in my experience. Overall I would 100% stay there again!
The only thing I did not like about Riviera bay was the awful TV service. at best we had 5 channels but most of the week there were only 2 available. It is pretty poor in this day & age. We stayed here 2 years ago & thought this was a stopgap as digital TV had only recently been introduced to Devon.
For the price that we paid, we guessed what the accommodation was going to be like, but we couldn't get over the smell in the chalet, we had to go out and buy fabric spray. Ok, it was a chalet that you were able to take your pet in, but I'm sorry, it really stank!
Overall mind. it was clean. It would have been better if we could have parked our car a little closer mind.
The entertainment area was of a good standard, with the nightly cabaret show a decent watch. But the price's were typical of holiday complexes, in that it was very expensive, in my view anyway. But know doubt the owners would say it was justified for the entertainment etc. The beach was within ten minutes away, but dont even try if you have walking difficulty or a pram!
Brixham was pretty close, but not really within walking distance, but all the place's we visited were within twenty minutes car drive.
But it was a nice end of summer break, with nice weather, and was lovely to be away for a week.
Would we go again? Yeh, why not!
Dirty chalet no close parking camp a bit tired need some tlc . Lovely location only reason we return. Very slow giving the keys on arrival
Would never go again, the accommodation was disgustingly dirty and in need of modernisation. We spent an absolute fortune because the accommodation was not comfortable to we had to go out all day every day
Love brixham the entertainment was good chalet had ants and needed refurb TV didn't work as no signal on site that week. Great location.
Absolutely loved it! The site was very good value for money and the views around the site were very pretty. Would definitely recommend to others and will definitely go again!
Although chalet was tidy. Lacks basic equipment. And sofa bed impossible to sleep on.
Entertainment?? The only part worth seeing was the staff performances. Bingo was expensive. And why do kids dances at 11pm when they should be done early eve.
Rooms were basic ,no atmosphere in club house due to the way the bingo was ran it was all done through a link, not much entertainment for the kids ,it was alot about this link bingo.
Fantastic club and facilities, we stayed in a budget chalet, 2 adults and 2 children it was perfect for a long weekend. Entertainment was very good as are the club and main complex, location is great right on the coast path with rugged walks to Riviera bay beach or back down to Brixham. Only down side was take away slightly expensive and don't expect a smile or friendly chat out of any of the bar staff on site or you will be dissapointed!!
The chalet was not as clean as I would expect, we found the potato masher and seagull feathers behind the TV! The wardrobe was held together with masking tape and the carpet grip partitioning off the kitchen area, was broken , leaving a very very sharp raised edge, not ideal with a lively 9 year old! The toilets in the main building were out of loo rolls at 8.30am at least 3 mornings! On a positive note, Jack made the entertainment (shame about Dan! Presume he was called grumpy Dan for that reason!)
Great location and good facilities to keep the kids entertained! Poorly stocked shop and chalets need some major refurbishment.
We had a sea view, the food in the restaurant was nice, and the staff throughout were really friendly. The location was great. On the downside, the staff in the kids club seemed uninterested.
A lick of paint wouldn't go a miss and the swimming pool always needed cleaning entertainment was good kids loved it and in the end that's all that matters
The park and facilities were great, the entertainment and food good. The accommodation was disappointing, very small especially for 6 people. Not enough plug sockets and not enough clothes storage for 4 let alone 6. I would have paid extra for more room if I had known. All in all accommodation was very dated, I would give that a 3.
