This caravan site is situated in the most beautiful location, and is ideal for a relaxing holiday with the family or partner... For dog lovers there are miles of dog friendly beaches. The caravan was clean and comfortable, the site was clean as were the facilities. The less positive parts: caravans close together (but a very quiet park still, even at night), the shop was way too small and poorly stocked (thankfully I took food with me) the pool was tiny and only allowed 12 people in at a time and slots were booked at 9am!
All that said... I would go back.
couldn't get a slot to go into swimming pool at all as it is too small. staff were not very helpful . there wasn't much to do at the park. the arcade was very small. couldn't get a shower in the morning as the water supply couldn't cope with everyone showering at same time. food in the café was not very good and staff were pretty clueless.
No hot water in the morning between 7 and 11, water pressure too low.
The clubhouse restaurant food was below standard. The curry was served all dried up, the prawn cocktail sauce looked awful and my husband tried my daughters prawns and advised her not to eat them. When the plates were collected we mentioned this to the waitress who returned after speaking to the chef to say that the prawns were opened today from a large bag. Probably what a customer doesn't want to hear. No apology for not being able to eat two out of our five meals. That was our first impression of the clubhouse. We did not return to eat there. No bread available from the shop during our four day stay. Very low stocked shelves.
Lovely park ideal for children and relaxing for parents will go back again
Great location. We loved the nature reserve, and enjoyed crabbing at the harbour. There is a great beach at Camber sands, which is only a short drive away. The staff, especially Jack in reception were really helpful & friendly. The negatives, for a small "Relax & explore" site, we found that the caravans were very close together, and the site was also quite noisy when the club shut. We were woken a few times by loud people outside our caravan late at night. The swimming pool is very small for the amount of caravans on site, so a band system is in place, but it operates on a first come, first served service, so you need to get up early to ensure you get a slot. The play area is quite hard for smaller children, and would definitely benefit from some modifications, as it is almost impossible to get up to the slide without an adults help. All this being said, we would come again, just for the location.
We took Granny and teenage daughter plus 2 poodles. We found the proximity to the nature reserve was this park's greatest asset. Highlight of the holiday was watching the Badgers pottering around in the late evening - priceless. This park is very well situated with plenty of interesting places nearby for days out and the buildings in older part of Rye are quite stunning.
We were expecting it to be basic, but thought it was misrepresented. The caravan we were in had torn upholstery, was unclean and the shower barely trickled!
Lovely setting, unfortunately the caravans are to close together and no outside seating also parking gets very busy and you have a job to get parked near to your caravan.
Lovely setting, friendly and helpful staff.
Parking was a pain -
If you left the site for the day in your car, the chances were that you could not park near the caravan on return home.
Alternatively if you left the car parked and walked in the immediate locality(which is lovely!) Someone would park across the front of the car trapping you in and preventing you from taking the car out at a later time.
Good value for money. (because we had a special deal)
Limited parking, none beside caravan.
Entertainment reminded of hi de hi (70's).
Caravan awful dirty, stank of smoke, dirty, cigarette butts littered outside door and window
Site was beside parks warden
On plus side staff helpful and pool small but nice and well managed
Enjoyed our short break but expected a little more activity on site. Currently building work taking place which I felt should have been mentioned at booking
Disappointed with the shop on site. Location good, loved taking dog round the nature reserve. The caravan was also good. However, Rye itself was a big disappointment. Hardly anywhere open in the evening to get something to eat.
Brilliant location, caravan basic but excellent value for money. We had a superb weekend break.
Very clean spotless caravan, and all the bedding was super white , very pleased with the accommodation and would quite happily stay there again . Lyn
