we had a great time ,caravan was better than we expected from a bronze ! .pool was good but needs a wind shield around the seaward side as it is very cold when the wind blows .overall we would stay there again and it was excellent value for money
Caravans are very tired and dirty. The whole site is in need of a refurb. We booked a week but went home early.
Lovely picturesque site, make sure you ask for one with a sea view. We stayed in a bronze caravan for 4 nights which was clean and tidy. The clubhouse has some fantastic entertainment and the beer and food is very cheap and really nice. We had a lovely meal . The gourmet burger and chips were only &7.95 and it tasted really good. The pool was very warm by the only downside was the water was dirty and had lots of black bits in the water. If they sorted the pool my teenage girls and myself would have stayed in it every day. Please sort your pool out and we will come back again.
We had a last minute change to a platinum 2 caravan and it was well worth it when we looked at some of the cheaper vans. It was a brand new caravan with all everything we needed. The park was in a beautiful setting. The food in the clubhouse was lovely and well priced. There is not a lot for older children but younger ones are entertained every night if you want. The pool is not huge but heated so can be used even in poor weather. We had a fabulous time and would definitely go again
We had to wait two hours for a silver caravan to be cleaned that clearly wasn't!
The complete caravan was dirty, food remains still on the floor and with kitchen plates, glasses utensils all needing cleaning before use. The floors had not been cleaned properly with dirt and grime pushed into the corners. The toilet had nort been cleaned with dust and hair over it.
Dated and tatty apart from the pool which is good
The location.and overall appearance of the park was lovely, not far from towns and villages plenty to do in the area,I just thought there wasn't really anything for the kids to do,the "arcade was a joke I walked in then straight back out,the entertainment was ok but I will say the caravan was brilliant very spacious but we were right by the road and clubhouse so it was very noisy and all the staff were lovely, the foid at the clubhouse was fantastic value for money too
Everywhere could do with an update but all clean and useable just a bit dated. Staff very helpful.
Could do with hard standing outside caravans as kept getting stuck in mud and then mud walked into caravan too.
Site and caravan clean and tidy. Location great for travelling across North Devon. Lovely sea views from the caravan park and loved the private beach!
Nothing to do on site no breakfast or lunch just a hatch in the bar for pub grub
Great stay, clean accomodation, good value food, fab evening entertainment. Will definetely recommend and definetely stay there again.
Quiet park and location ideal for a stress free break
We have stayed at Sandaway Beach on several occasions. The setting is beautiful and the staff are incredibly helpful. We stayed in a gold caravan, which although perfectly adequate, was beginning to look a little tired. We had a couple of problems with it and they were rectified straight away. The club house could probably do with a bit of a make over and update, but the food is good, especially the speciality burgers. The children's indoor play area looks very shabby and my 9 year old was too tall to use any of the play equipment, however, we were not staying there for the indoor play area!
We would definitely go back, but it would be nice if some areas had a bit of an update. It is the friendly staff and location which really make this site.
We recently spent a week here. The lady in the bar/ reception was pleasant and nice. But the caravan was disgusting full of dog and human hair. The shower was full of mould. It was truly the worst place we have ever stayed. I wouldn't have minded if it had been advertised that pets stayed in certain caravans but no. I would have upgraded the comment was said a few times that we are only a small caravan park i expected the cleanliness to be clean. But no the children's indoor play area was disgusting dirty, needed updating.no supervision which I agree with. Also the baby changing facilities In the bar were very small and hard to use. The Swimming pool was outdoor and heated and was extremely clean and supervised. The best part of the resort. I think it is too highly priced for the caravan we stayed in comparison to another wk away we have in England. I had to write a review which I never do so a young family like myself won't be disappointed.
Bronze caravan was basic, but OK for the money.
It could have had some DIY especially the hole in the bathroom wall.
Would have been nice if a gas fire lighter was provided for the cooker and hob, asked in reception but was just give a pack of matches (ended up buying my own gas fire lighter). Oven was a nightmare to light.
Sign in the caravan says free bin liners available from reception, but when asking for one on our last night was refused by the only person behind the desk even after I told her there was a sign that said they was free, she also said she doesn't work here so ask in the morning why was she there?. We ended up leaving most of the rubbish on the table with a note.
We paid extra for a dog, but not sure why it costs more as none of the facilities was available for us if we had the dog with us.
On the plus side the area was nice, and easy to get to most of Devon from there. For that reason we would consider staying there again.
