We had a lovely week's stay at Sandy Glade. It was a great base for driving to various places for day trips. The pool was lovely and clean, there wasn't a lot of changing facilities but this was never a problem as when we used the pool it was never busy. The activities in the pool were great for the kids and very good that they were free. The beach was very close by and was lovely and clean. The kids disco was really enjoyed by our three children, we never stayed in the clubhouse late so not sure about the family/adults entertainment but i'm positive this would have been great too. The park was good, not so much to do for younger children though.
The caravan was spacious and well positioned. Could have done with a deep clean as the walls in the kitchen were dirty but generally clean. Kids loved the park and proximity to the beach. Pool wasn't used by us as it was overcrowded. Evening entertainment was quite good but there was nowhere near enough seating for the number of people.
Had an amazing time will definately be booking again soon
Not very clean. Curtain falling down no cooking trays to use for cooking. Beds not very clean. No hot water
Good for families with dogs. The shop could be better stocked - very limited selection. The pool opening hours were quite restricted
Checking was in was a bit painful, there was along wait and the vans weren't ready by the 4pm check in time. The clubhouse cannot cater for the number of people staying at the site, we visited Saturday evening and it was packed, we stood with our kids and had a drink, waiting for about 45 minutes but no tables became available so we left and the bar lost our business. We didn't go back during our stay. Unlikely we would stay here again despite the van being clean and the site being quiet.
Was surprised to find no heating in the bedrooms in the caravan as it was March And cold. Swimming pool was freezing. Restaurant not being located in the bar meant had to travel to eat out. Entertainment not great if kids older than toddlers. Overall disappointed.
Lovely caravan park nice & clean friendly staff great entertainment for children value for money would go back again
Our bronze chalet was very tired, and grubby and felt damp. Very thin curtains with a security light on all night outside. No heating in bathroom or bedroom. Showers run out of hot water after one shower. Just one small heater in the sitting area which was inadequate.
Nowhere to hang wet coats except on the back of dining chairs. Only two tiny mirrors, both in the bathroom, so nowhere to use a hairdryer near a mirror, and no mirror above the basin for shaving. No vegetable knife. TV remote left hidden down the side of the sofa.
Just one two seater sofa in the chalet which is supposed to sleep 4/6 people.
The swimming pool was too cold and the fountains not working and the children,s pool was cold and dirty.
No recycling facilities, and overflowing rubbish bins.
Reception staff unhelpful and one in particular was rude.
Entertainments ok. Little kids were happy with it.
Our dog LOVED it there though! Loads of great beach/dunes walks on the doorstep.
Location is very good, just across the road from a big sandy beach and the dunes.
We have stayed in much better places for a similar price.
If you stay here, ask for one of the larger Gold Chalets..... 49, which one of my daughters had was much bigger and better equipped than 29. Don't have bronze unless you have a dog!
Best holiday ever superb accommodation I am booking again to go back I loved it
stayed in a silver chalet to find no heating in the bedrooms or bathroom. only a small heater on the wall in the living area. Pool abit cold but only two small changing rooms. clubhouse lovely with good entertainment. cafe corner cafe nice and reasonably priced
Stayed here for a last minute break in a bronze chalet accommodation was dated and basic but clean andthe price we paid for the weekend was brilliant value for money the site has plenty to do we will be returning soon but in there deluxe lodges!!
Sandy glade is a fantastic place to have your holiday and take your children as there is lots to do in the park and outside of the park too, the only down side is the lack of baby changing facilities as there is only 2 and 1 of those is in the swimming pool area, apart from that the staff are fantastic and its a really nice place to stay
This was a really relaxing and pleasant holiday , a lovely site with very pleasant staff. We would definitely go there again .
I was so impressed when we arrived. I got a last minute booking and didn't raise my hopes but the chalet was spacious, clean and warm. My fella and I and our two border collies loved it for a long weekend. The beaches are fab for lovely long walks and then we came back and got drinks from the bar and chips from the cafe. Staff were all pleasant and I really couldn't have asked for more
