Had a great time with my 10 year old daughter and her friend no complaints about the facilities and caravan only one thing was poor internet very poor
Stanwix Park is clean and quite modern. The indoor pool was nice and warm but always quite full. The lifeguards did not stop the kids 'bombing' and splashing us, which was quite annoying. And there were endless inflatables taking up a lot of room so couldn't actually have a 'swim' as such. If you just want to have a muck about it's okay.
We tried the outdoor pool the one day it was open (due to the weather not being warm enough) and it was still too cold to venture in properly.
Thought the drinks in the bar were well over-priced.
The mini-golf was very overgrown, and the kids around there were just using the area for playing in and hide-and-seek.
Thought the caravans were too close together, not much privacy, and we were at the end of a row too.
The shop was surprisingly good, sold all sorts of stuff plus gifts etc. It wasn't bad prices either.
The staff seemed alright, shop staff were very helpful.
The 'Garden Cafe' was good too, try the 8-piece breakfast for £5 - not bad, quick service and the staff were nice and polite as well.
Silloth is a quaint little town, would be lovely in good weather. Large green area to spread out in, beach front to walk along, some small shops, and a couple of small Spar/Co-op shops - bit on the dear side in them.
You can walk into Silloth from Stanwix Park, takes around 15 mins.
The biggest let-down was the wi-fi - advertised as free in some areas but almost impossible to get it. I assumed this was to make people buy it for their holiday, you have to pay per device and it's extortionate.
I know it sounds mostly bad, but all in all we did actually have a good holiday as we're not that fussy and we made sure we had stuff to do despite the bad weather.
We have been on holiday to Stanwix Park several times over the years and come away very happy. The condition of our accommodation (we love caravans), the cleanliness of the park, the amenities, the beach is near to hand and Silloth has a lovey wee town we just LOVE IT and intend going back in 2016.
Good basic holiday
A fantastic holiday, only complaint would be the price. It was only two of us staying so it worked out to be pretty expensive. The caravan was lovely and very clean.
The caravan was very clean and tidy as were the surrounding areas The indoor and outdoor pools were well maintained and very clean and a life guard was on duty at each pool at all times Although I didn't personally try the entertainment my daughters son in laws and grandchildren had a wonderful time playing games with foxy and dancing I would highly recommend it The only down fall is how far the beach and town facilities are away
My husband had stayed at Stanwix Park many many years ago so it had a lot to live up to and it did not disappoint. We had a really good time there was plenty to do, the activities and entertainment catered for all ages it was excellent and well thought out. The complex was spotless and the staff were very helpful and polite. The only thing we missed was somewhere to get something to eat late as the café closed at 8.45 but entertainment goes on until much later, however you can order food from a takeaway in town. It was not like some holiday parks were there are arcades in your path ever where you turn they were well placed and just enough of them to satisfy the kids and your pocket. We also ventured out into Silloth which is only minutes by car about 10 mins walking, where there was a massive park just by the beach, we played football and cricket it had an outdoor play area with a splash zone, adventure play park, bouncy castle, a small arcade and icecream it was lovely so was the weather. Really enjoyed our stay it was value for money and it would definitely be a our first choice for a UK holiday in future even though we live on the coast near other well known Holiday Parks.
Great time, kids had a ball. So much for them to do. Real shame WiFi is not easily accessible. The free access was not working and daily fee is extortion.
due to the lack of places to eat out in the local area there should be more choice in the cafe
Pool changing room was filthy & gender shared. Shop shut early evening so had to keep going into town after days out if we needed bits and pieces. Playground was full of bullies and it wouldn't have hurt to have a member of staff walking around.
Overall very disappointed.
Great Caravans, nice quiet site, Bingo goes on a bit but just not for me!! entertainment was ok. DIDNT UNDERSTAND why in the family club downstairs, on stage was an old gent playing a guitar, not great but he was playing HEAVY ROCK think it was rediculas!!young children dancing with parents don't need to be subjected to that!!! its a club for family s so you should play music from the charts, children s songs, maybe, 80s 90s. that was the worst thing!! other than that great place to holiday thanks
Great place and lovely staff
Great holiday enjoyed by all the family.
Great. However we paid for internet and it was really slow. Opening a page took up to a minute. This was not a good service.
WiFi could have been better & 3 Network did not work in area.
Nice park & facilities :)
