Located among the scenic lochs and mountains of the Trossachs, this beautiful setting is overlooked by the majestic Ben Ledi, which provides a stunning backdrop to the cabins which are all nestled between the heart of the forest and the banks of Loch Lubnaig. Breathtaking views abound, and being set entirely within the Forestry Commision estate, the area is a paradise for lovers of nature and those looking for complete relaxation from the stresses of modern day life.Only 39 miles from Glasgow, the cabins are ideal for short breaks. the area is a beautiful place whatever you wish to do. we found some excellent places to eat, shop and we had some wonderful walks with our dog and it was a lovely holiday, we had great mobile coverage on vodaphone to keep in touch with home despite the rural location. The lodge was lovely and clean but didn't have the luxurious feel I was expecting after paying a lot of money. The front area to your lodge is fenced in and enclosed so is great for the dog but the hot tub is quite visible at the front and not very private. there was a fire bell outside our lodge also which children from other lodges enjoyed playing with and being a nuisance. I would also liked to have seen a more cared for environment around the lodges..the grass was quite long and weedy..again if you are paying a lot of money you expect a bit more. also if you wanted to order a film through the tv it was well overpriced..strathyre make you pay top wack whatever they are selling. we enjoyed our stay but I think there are other places more competive and better value for money so I don't think we would go back
We had the most amazing week at Strathyre Forest Cabins, we arrived at check in at 4pm and had pre-ordered the pizza pack and breakfast pack. The hot tub was ready as soon as we got to our cabin, the cabin was stunning and pizza delivered at our pre-ordered time of 6:30pm which was great after our long drive from West Yorkshire. We did archery and forest skills with Jack Black McGregor who is an amazing addtion to this particular Forest Park. Staff helpfull, hot tub cleaned daily. We saw wild deer and one night while relaxing in the hot tub after a walk up Ben Ledi we saw two Golden Eagles fly all the way down the valley. Beautifull views, friendly staff, it was a perfect break (we stayed for 1 week) I miss it already.
Nice place..peaceful..only thing missing was towels
Had a great break chilled out and relaxed.
Great time, lovely views and very friendly people , the village of Callander is excellent and the restaurants provide good value for money.
The cabins are very clean and tidy and well prepared. When we arrived the cabin had a really clean smell of bleach which tells you that it is clean
Oh and the hot tub is great too especially for the kids
Beautiful lodge in a stunning location - superb!
Couldn't fault the place, even when they had to shut the power off for the day, they provided us with extra water and to compensate a movie channel for the whole week. Would not hesitate going back and the dog lived it.
Beautiful setting. Great for a short break. Majority of staff were very friendly.
The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The views are amazing loved it.
A wonderful relaxing experience. Accommodation superb - items missing were quickly replaced by staff. Surroundings amazing.
Good location for walking/cycling.
Hot tub superb!
Did not want to go home.
I'm glad we got cabin number 32 as it was right on the Loch side. Lively place all round.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the cabins for a romantic break over May Day bank holiday 2015. Unfortunately the cabins had been advertised as ideal for romantic break and the pictures all suggested that the cabins were remote and secluded, giving you lots of privacy. However this was not the case. We arrived to find that our cabin was located just metres away from the reception building and our view was overlooking the car park. Yes the site is on the edge of a loch but we would know as our view was just of other cabins, the reception building and the car park. We could see into our two neighbouring cabins and they ours. Also our hot tub was right next to the path which leads to two cabins and overlooks the entrance to a third. Not at all what we thought we'd paid for. Unfortunately the cabins were all full during our stay so there was "nothing we can do about it". Very disappointing.
The area itself is beautiful, once outside the cabin site, and it's a great place to explore on bikes or hiking with a group of friends or family. Definitely not a romantic setting at all!!
Everything was perfect as was last year apart from a few minor changes. We came expecting a dvd player and logs being readily available but was disappointed as there was no dvd player and no logs for the log burner on site. In addition to this the log burner was damp leading to difficulty igniting the logs we purchased from elsewhere. Also we feel that the price per movie or movie/wifi access for the week was rather expensive. All told these are just minor blemishes and did not spoil what is a perfect break in a perfect location.
this was first time we been on this sort of holiday we had brillant time so relaxing couldnt fault it in any way
3rd stay & love this place!!!
