The lodge was made very warm, cosy and welcoming as it was very cold when we arrived, the hot tub was ready to use and the lodge was very clean.
The towels were a little warm and discoloured in the 2nd bedroom and the washer was also in usable due to a broken button(the door opening button was missing so unable to wash anything), also the tea towel provided was very dusty smelling so had to be left outside as we couldn't use the washer, these however to me minor things and the only gripes really.

Only downsize no toaster, had to go and buy one.

The spa bath was quite cold on arrival even though we arrived later (5pm!) it only had one setting too. Again, I did go to reception to feed this info back to someone but no one there to accept.

The pictures on the website were misleading. They showed the woodland view but we didn't get one next to the woodland and were told that even though they are called woodland view, some of them aren't.

We stayed in the Woodland View Lodge and we were very pleased overall. The lodge was decorated tastefully with nice touches of soft furnishings. The hot tub was available to use on our first day of arrival which was great, really nice and warm. My only complaint really would be the chairs on the patio area they had seen better days and were on their last legs. It wouldn't cost much to replace them so think this was poor.
There was a fusty smell in the lodge I can only assume from the people who were in it previous to us or because it had been shut up but we bought some air-freshener and opened the windows so the smell went within a few days. I don't think there is much time spent cleaning the lodges as everything was quite dusty. However, the general kitchen and bathroom areas were clean. (not a complaint as such just an observation).
I would definitely stay here again. You have to drive to get anywhere but there were plenty of places to visit with the children that were good value for money and not much of a drive. We have 2 small children and some places we would recommend that aren't expensive are: Oak Farm Park, Hicks Lodge Forestry (good for Cycling), Foremark Reservoir.

Had another lovely week in the peace and quiet at swainswood.

Lodge (well glorified caravan really!) was very shabby - rusty radiators, cupboard doors that didn't close, washing door that wouldn't open, water damage on skirtings, doors and floors.
There was also a lot of noise until after 1am from the opposite caravan. We had asked them to keep it down as we had a baby but they just laughed at us, we called all evening to the site contact but didn't get any response until 1am and then the maintenance guy went over and told them. They did quieten after that.
The site isn't in a scenic area, quite industrial, however once inside we did not see anytime other than trees although if you were in a caravan next to the road you would see a factory and hear a lot of road noise.
The hot tub was lovely and we were lucky that you could get to it via our French doors however some you have to go out your side door, go round the back of your caravan where there was a free standing hot tub. I wouldn't have like leaving our baby in the caravan on his own while we were outside the caravan with no door or window to keep an eye on him.

had a little problem with the hot tub. staff great. only real complain is that we had to go home at the end of our holiday.

The lodge was clean and modern, but because the floor was carpet in the lounge which was the exit to the hot tub, it smelt like feet
Had a lovely stay at the woodland view lodge in May for the weekend, couldn't fault the park or the staff, only a few slight problems with the lodge itself, the dishwasher didn't work, and the table and chairs on the decking were old and rusty and didn't seem sturdy enough to sit on, also there was only one handle on the cover to the hot tub which made it difficult to take off and cover back up when not using, other than that I would definitely visit again.

The lodge was very big and modern, would be ideal for a family for a quiet weekend away. I found the lodge quite cold because the heating only stayed on for two hours but once I'd sat in front of the fire with a nice glass of wine it was fine. The bedroom was to my taste and the bed was comfy but the mattress moved a but through the night. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, slways warm and clean, it was cleaned before we got there and was ready for us as soon as we got there. The only downside was that you could tell other people had been in the lodge before us, for example the sofas were a but worn as they had marks on them and were a little flat, the tea towel was dirty and had stains all over but luckily we took our own. Apart from the few little bits, the lodge was very homely and would stay on the site again.

Overall it was a lovely lodge, although there was 1 hob that didn't work and another that didn't work properly.

It was great. Only thing I would change is I like to sit with my partner to watch tv but I understand the space is limited so sofas are compact
