The lodge was beautifully clean and comfortable. The staff were all lovely, we had a lovely week, having a private hot tub was brilliant. We will definitely be going back soon :)
I stayed in the Valentine Lodge at Weston Wood Lodges ,the lodge was just lovely cute and cosy.
The lodge itself was clean and smelt nice when entering. I was told there was a iron and ironing board but that was not the case. I went to the office and they gave me a iron so I got by.
Two pubs were in walking distance - yes if your into hiking.
There is nothing on the site apart from lodges but we knew that and was happy with that.
The hot tub was amazing used it every day.
I would reccomend the Coopers Arm for a relaxing drink over looking the lake the food is a bit pricey, the best value for money on food is defo The White Swan massive portions. :-)
I had a really lovely relaxing time and would go back but we did get a very good deal on booking the lodge.
I point out some faults when I left hoping they will get them fixed but they were no major issues.
The overflow on the bath didn't seem to be connected.
The lack of TV channels we could get.
My partner had a issue with the planes from 3.00 AM until 6.00 AM each morning but I never heard a thing. LOL
Monkey Forest is worth a visit I also went to Trycross Zoo which was one of the better zoos which i have been to but mainly for monkey's.
Very quiet comfortable safe
The staff were really helpful and friendly. The holiday home was about a miles walk to nearest pub and there was a canal 5mins walk away. I enjoyed the hot tub. We were lucky and had a lovely sunny week, unfortunately this meant the holiday home was like an oven, there was a fan , but nowhere to plug it into at night in the bedroom. The only place to plug anything in was used by the lamp, and I know I could have used that but the fan would be of no use put on the floor. All the mirrors were placed too high on the wall and the settee was the most uncomfortable settee . Saying this ,we enjoyed ourselves but wouldn't go back there as it's unlikely that we would go back to that area.
Great location, very quiet. Not much to do on the actual site but very short drives to Derby, Birmingham and Nottingham.
Felt that it was too much like a caravan and not a lodge. Twin bedroom was far to small for 2 adults. Hot tub cover was broken also.
fantastic short break and very helpfull staff, hot tub was ace and so was the chocolates and bottle of wine on arrival.
Really enjoyed our stay, the only slight niggle was that when we got into our lodge it wasn't as clean as we'd excpect, the peddle bin was full from the previous occupant's. This didn't effect our stay tho & we did enjoy our stay. Stuart was very helpful & all ways on hand if needed. Thank you.
Holiday was lovely. obviously its being renovated in parts. shower was broken but was fixed straight away. toaster was replaced. not very clear from the road where it is. no sign posts. carpet was loose on joint from kitchen to lounge area. nice touch with the wine and chocolates. could do with a small park on site.
Great holiday, we were upgraded to an executive lodge which made our stay even more pleasant. Staff were helpful and obliging with nothing being too much trouble.
The staff at Weston Wood Lodges were very nice and the surrounding area lovely.
We stayed in the Valentines lodge the facilities were excellent which included an outdoor hot tub and a freestanding bath in the large bedroom. The site was lovely and peaceful which was just what we were after. There were two lovely villages within walking distance where we found an excellent pub called The Malt for food.
I would recommend a stay at Weston Wood Lodges if you're after a peaceful retreat to get away from it all. Date of stay was June 2015
Was not happy that couldnt use hot tub on arrival
Had to wait 12 hours before could use it
Dressing gowns to small
not very private
Very nice holiday, the staff were extremely helpful, the lodge was very clean and well laid out and the hot tub was superb
