A welcoming cottage with all the basic facilities. Friendly, helpful people at the pub. Would stay again
This is the third time my mother and I have stayed here as a perfect base for exploring Yorkshire and surrounding areas. It is a quiet haven, not full of arcades & entertainment teams. If that is the kind of thing you are looking for, go elsewhere.
If you want tranquility, brilliant walks & friendly family-oriented people who are completely accommodating (thank you Zoe & your team) and a nice swim occasionally, then this is idyllic. Everything is maintained beautifully and I could not ask for better.
really enjoyed staying in the cottage , it was handy for York , Lightwater valley and north yorks moors railway
Lovely convenient spot for touring both The Moors and The Dales
Good base from which to tour the area

A peaceful location for a relaxing week. Convenient base to explore nearby York, Ripon, Harrogate.
This is vey difficult to review as we went over the Xmas period and were the only occupants of the 6 cottages and the caravan park was closed so we could not comment on any facilities.
Had a water leak and had no hot wster for short time. Did not like been blamed for the leak. Would not go back to White Rose Cottage. Would go back to Yorksire.
Dirty and basic had to get bedding changed sheets and quilt stained different quilt did not fit no clips no dvd player Pub not open Pool on a different site and doors locked could not get in.
cottages where very tired accomodation not up to our standards
The Sunday lunch at the HorsebreakersPub onsite was wonderful!
In in a generally nice enough location but a rubbish tip next to the cottages that isn't mentioned. The extra bed for the 5th person was a worn out sofa bed with a paper thin, filthy stained mattress that wasn't adequate. Other than these points the cottage was OK.
