The lodge (No.20)was comfortable and lovely. It was in a quiet and serene area, yet the village was just with in walking distance. The lodge was spacious and having en-suites in all four bedrooms made it so good as we were two families. There was ample parking spaces. The supply of towels and kitchen equipment was good.
There was no information booklet which we find in most accommodations. We had to ask for it and what was given to us was not really useful. We could not use the phones to contact the owner to report some issues as there was no signal and we later found where they live so it was ok. She was very helpful when we reported about the front door lock as we could not lock the door. She knew about this as someone else had reported it. She locked the door for us with great difficulty and we did not use the door since as we had the back door and the door from the kitchen. However it should have been sorted out before our arrival.
The door handle to the en-suite in the main bedroom was broken and so was the toilet paper dispenser, the oven was dirty and we had to clean it, the freezer was full of ice as it was not defrosted before our arrival, the shower room in the twin bedroom opposite the double bedroom upstairs could not be used as the water kept coming out and once it leaked down the ceiling downstairs. Luckily we had enough bathrooms we could use.

We stayed here a year ago and loved it so much we went back however we got there this year and was very sad to see it had gone down hill
The kitchen table had massive chunks taken out of it
The rug was very grubby in the living room they did replace it half way through with a rug that didn't match at all
The living room table had chunks out of it
Last year all the bedrooms were all lovely and matching this year we go back one room had a purple head board with an red runner and 3 of the bedrooms had Asda value brown quilt covers ( nothing matched in the room at all )
The runners on the bed were all scagged and very grubby and every single room didn't have anything matching in the room making it look odd and colour matching don't cost much if you want to change a colour change them all. It's the little things that make it go along way
The toilet down stairs last year the toilet door didn't lock we just put that down to being only a few months old and would get done 18 months later and the toilet still doesn't lock which isn't good at all
When the lodge is for 8 people
There was a few other bits that were ruined like the bread bin the glass on the front was smashed (can't afford another one just take it away better to not have one than have a broken one )
The plastic white case to cover wires was still not there on the kitchen counter meaning loose worse were hanging out the wall (not sure if dangerous but there is a reason they make covers )
A few more details were very disappointing but can't remember them all
many people would say non of them are big deals however the standards and quality has gone down hill so much in 18 months what would it look like in another 18 months ? And the prices have more than doubled from last year yet it's worse.
If they can't keep the same standards in a 18 month old log cabin how can they keep any standards as it gets older
Very sad to see and won't be returning next year

This was our second visit to the lodge and was saddened to see how damaged it had become. The light fitting in the living room was damaged. Toilet roll holder broken and chunk missing out of dining room table. Also rug in living room looked dirty.

Although we did take some of our own cooking things, just in case, the kitchen was very well equipped.
