Having read previous reviews, we arrived (albeit late) with interest. No-one at reception so rang Colin, he met us at the house to let us know we had been upgraded. Found the Swallow lodge and got ourselves in. A pleasant lodge with good aspect, however as other reviews have mentioned, some little details missing - the tap in the bathroom could only produce hot water, not too much of a problem. In the kitchen there were a definite lack of pans, only casserole dishes available, and I would really welcome a co-ordinated set of kitchen utensils in these lodges, and no information in the lodge for contacts, owners or local services or places to visit. This doesn't seem like much but does help a holiday if you can look through a book/brochure of places to visit. We came with a plan but others may not.
A very peaceful site. Really enjoyed the quiet and surrounding countryside.
Did not use any of the facilities
wonderful quiet peacful ideal for a restful week away from everything am looking forward to retrning
Lovely surroundings, could do with some general maintenance especially the covered outside seated area by our lodge. Lodge itself was very nice although the plumbing in the shower needed attention but overall a very nice break.
Myself, my husband and 3 children had a lovely stay at beechwood park. Would definitely recommend
Charged £10 for electricity plus another £5 when it ran out!! This seemed excessive for just three nights. Both side lights in the bedroom didn't work. They were eventually changed leaving one light in the other bedroom not working. The tv was quite unreliable. It had to be retuned by the staff. The front door was very hard to close and lock as it had at some time been forced and was quite badly warped, and damaged around the bottom hinge.
Stayed for weekend 12 of us had an excellent time youngest in our party was 8 weeks oldest was 62,everyone enjoyed it fishing excellent peaceful surroundings, kids really enjoyed the wildlife.Would recommend the village pub very good food,Elvaston castle has wonderful gardens could easily spend best part of day there. We shall be back for a third visit soon.
great quiet location, ideal for what we wanted
No the best but excellent value for money. We were racing at Donington so just used the lodge as a base which was ideal.
Not a funny start got locked in my lodge. Colin on the spot in less than 5 minutes. Fixed everything. Faulty lock.
Did not like having to pay for wifi but not everything can be free
Lodge spotless. Well equipped . Beautiful surroundings everything so clean.
I would recommend but not for families with small children.
We enjoyed our stay but there was not much to do on the site. There was a good local pub nearby which was very welcoming and served good food.
Only bad thing we could say was having to pay electricity but very easy not to use a lot and got the money back on what we didn't spend definitely would stay again! :)
Had a lovely time at Beechwood Park. The log cabin we stayed in was just perfect
Accommodation was lovely. Very homely. We went in February so the facilities weren't available that's the only reason if didn't get a higher rating. Same with friendliness of staff. Hardly saw them. When we did they were happy to help. Very enjoyable break.
