We stayed in a lodge it was so roomy, clean and comfortable. Shame about the traffic noise.
Stayed for just short of a week in May as the location was perfect for visiting family nearby and making the most of local areas/attractions. The sight is right on the A1, perfect for accesiblity and getting around but if you're too light a sleeper some road noise might keep you up. Personally it didnt bother me as no different to home!
Enjoyed the break and easy to get around. Could do with a small shop to pick up some essentials ie. Milk.
Staff are great, accommodation fine though looking a bit tired. I am getting increasingly disabled and though accommodation was fine the access steps are a bit difficult. The position so close to the A1 though convenient fir road access means it is noisy so I would want a caravan with easier access and further away from the A1. When we stayed in May 2015 we noticed that the site was extending, with new caravans which looked great and in a lovely position. If we stayed again we would look to book a newer caravan, with easier access that was positioned further away from the A1.
Lovely park, very clean and tidy. Lodge well equipped and modern, comfy beds! Close to a1 but had no problem with noise in lodge. Would return.
We had a wonderful stay for 4 days in late April. It is a very well kept park that is quiet and peaceful. The lodge was comfortable and well equipped (one small niggle - some new cushions in the lounge would not go amiss!). I daresay our stay was helped by great weather ad lovely sunshine but the park is in a good location for getting around to many places of interest. The staff were friendly and very helpful and overall we would not hesitate to return.
Our holiday was great we love Northumberland but I would not return to bockenfield park. When we got home we received an email on a Sunday evening at 9:30 pm informing me that I would be billed for a faulty cooker and all the towels which we did not take.If you go there have plenty or evident of how you left the lodge or face being ripped off too.
Park was nice and quiet, what we were looking for. Well located. Near the road as we had been warned but not too noisy. .
Lovely Christmas break.
we would defently return, and spend christmas there again if we could have the same lodge, or very close to it.
The Thirston is an excellent lodge.
The Felton was much bigger than expected with lots of storage space
The staff especially Emily were very helpful. The site is close to the A1 and was beneficial as this gave easy access to the places we wished to visit. We were not bothered by the traffic noise though I can imagine some people would be bothered by it. The facilities in the lodge were very good. It was cosy and clean. We would definitely go there again.
A lovely clean well maintained site. The big down fall is the very noisey A1 and 9 mile drive to the nearest shop.
