Lovely cottage (bungalow).
Couldn't fault it. Spacious. Modern. Quiet and on beautiful part of the island. Will defiantly go again. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a quiet relaxed holiday.
Lovely quiet holiday park, ideal for stroll along beach and for easy access to south of Isle of Wight.
Colwell Bay was a lovely place to stay, very clean and modern and had everything you needed for a self catering holiday.
The hot tub was lovely apart from the jets not working, the first night the water wasn't too temperature which was slightly disappointing (as the kids were desperate to get in) and I think it would have been nice for them to have had some kind of cover over them, as it did rain while we were in it.
This place defiantly needs some kind of club house or entertainment for the evenings, as Freshwater has not much going for it ! we ended up driving out to find something to do.
Really nice we could take our dog ! this was the main factor of booking to stay there.
In all really nice accommodation ! going to try and find similar in Devon or Cornwall.
Lovely quiet site, near the beach, lovely
Was a bit concerned as we were arriving close to midnight and last min got a cottage that allowed dogs but was very surprised by how beautiful the cottage was and the staff accommodated the fact that we'd be arriving very late.
The grounds are beautiful and not fussed that the pool was too close. The beach was in walking distance and loved that you could pass through the gate at the back and arrive on the shoreline. Beautiful views .....
Id say only a few minor issues:
1. The bed was way too small for two adults and my partner and I are not big by any means so was a bit of a tight squeeze and so wasn't a restful sleep.
2. The sofas could've been pulled out and cleaned properly as most people with animals would let them sleep on the sofas as noticed by the mountain on dog hair in the creases
3. The TV in the front room didn't really work properly as it kept gettin dark every time we changed the channel
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and would return again
Will definitely be going back
Took 2 young grandchildren very safe
This holiday site would have been brilliant, especially for value for money, however the cleanness let's it down badly. On intial appearance it looks ok but look a little closer and you'll see its quite filthy. As polite and helpful as the staff are I don't think they know how to clean or mop properly. The beds are also knackered and uncomfortable. The pool was freezing and it's has no changing facilities . I would suggest pay a bit more and go elsewhere especially if you have young children.
Excellent stay. Would definitely come back and recommend to family and friends, the little extras such as loaf of bread and milk were very nice.
Excellent place and the hot tub great and the staff couldn't have been more helpful
We had a amazing week in Colwell Bay, the weather was great which really helped. Alum cottage was perfect and the facilities were great, lovely pool and tennis court used everyday.
Very short walk to the beech.
We will stay again very soon
A great location on the quieter "West Wight" side of the Island. Less than 5 mins walk to a lovely beach, with its own "up market" Bar/Cafe (The Hut), 5 mins drive to a local Sainsbury's & Co-op, plus Banks etc and you're never more than a 45 min drive from any of the 'visitor' sites on the Island.
Colwell Bay is on the north west side of the island and less busy than the east, which for us was perfect, quieter. Although there are no sea views form the site , the beach is very close by. The heated pool on site was very nice and meant we were able to have a swim in April!
Value for money. Really comfortable stay and nice to get basic items such as bread and milk. Would benefit from bins in the bedroom and lounge areas and dishwasher tablets.
Holiday home was absolutely lovely, all staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location and absolute value for money , especially for familys. Would highley recommend to anyone wanting to travel to the Isle of Wight. We had a lovely time and it was very relaxing. Did not want to come home.
Cottage was well equipped, clean and cosy. Hot tub was a special treat. Décor could do with some modernisation, but excellent value for money. Just the job for a family holiday. Would definitely return to this area and location. Not much to do in local area, and bit restricted for eating out but IOW is pretty small so easy to get around if you have a car. Needles Park and Alum Bay is just 5mins down the road. Top tip - go late afternoon as the parking is free!
