Our own little slice of paradise :-)
First time visit, would definitely go back... Newton Stewart is lovely.. Great hotel nearby with lovely food and let our dogs into the bar..
Relaxing setting. Staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Equipment within lodge modern and of good quality and had everything you needed. A little more cupboard space for your own food is my only complaint. Hot tub secluded and screened - very welcomed after a days walking.
Lodge was lovely, wifi signal could do with being improved as phone signal is limited
Lovely and Relaxing . Walked into the town and about the grounds . Needs more sign posts to direct people to the site . It would be good to have one in Newton Stewart at the bridge and also at the house ing estate as it's not clear at all . The sat nav brought me through the estate but my pal didn't have a sat nav and when she was coming couldn't find the place at all
We stayed at Conifer Lodges in 2013 (group of 8 in 2 four person lodges) and had a great time so returned again. This time only 6 of us could go so we booked the 6 person lodge.
Unfortunately I ended up hospitalised so me and my wife had to withdraw from the holiday, but the feedback I received from my family and friends who did go was that the lodge wouldn't have comfortably fitted 6 guests. There was not enough room on the sofa, there wre only 4 chairs for the table!?! and they believed the hot tub was the same size as the hot tubs we had previously used in the 4 person lodges. i.e. they would have struggled to fit 6 people in at the same time.
Also they didn;t like the fact that the mezzanine area had no privacy and had me and my wife made it to the holiday it would have meant one of the couples would have had to sleep there.
We had a lovely time, 3 nights wasn't long enough! The lodge and surroundings are beautiful and we can't wait to come back!!!
We choose this lodge for the hot tub and wi fi. Unfortunately the wifi rarely worked which was a huge disappointment as there were other cheaper sites we could have visited with no wifi. We should just have done this.
This was a lovely setting, very peaceful and relaxing
Would def book again loved it
Great place for a complete getaway. Expensive retreat for quite basic facilities at an out of season time.
had a great stay at confider lodges, they were comfortable and suited our needs. Only downside was how far out the lodges were from us
Lovely surroundings, we brought our dog so plenty of walks.
Kitchen way too small not fully equipt. Bathroom fittings cheap and not very stable. Bedrooms tiny. Heating in twin room didn't work. Double bed is the smallest double bed we have ever slept in. You really can't open the bedroom door to get in as the bed is in the way. It's a same because the lounge is huge and a waste of space that is needed in the bed rooms & kitchen. The location was beautiful but we won't be booking there again.
