Lodge beautiful except for parking facilities which weren't idealy situated for packing/ unpacking the car especially as we arrived when it was dark and had a 1 year old and LOTS of luggage with us. We're told a member of staff would come and show us around our cabin but never had a visit of any kind. Dog poo on our decking wasn't pleasant on arrival. However we had a lovely stay once we were in and settled.

Could have been cleaner although we made do, we left it in state we found it in, floor heating needed but heating overall needs to be better controlled as gets too hot at times in bedrooms. Towels should really be provided and small kit to help with cleaning as people have enough to bring, this may be why cleaning wasn't up to scratch from previous people. Cabins need updating, but overall, love this type of break away. Needs a bigger toaster and the microwave needs fitting so it doesn't move also dishwasher was filthy.

The location was beautiful, the staff were ok and did the basics. The facilities were shocking.. nothing for the kids to do, needs more things on site to do. there was one launderette room for the whole site which meant you had to wait for a spot. The cost of the cabin was very high we stayed a week and i think at the very least each cabin should be supplied with log fires, out door patio heaters a cleaner to change sheets etc... in a forest obliviously sheets and towels will get dirty. I would not go back to Cropton Lodges for all of the above reasons.
