Nice clean lodge in a quite setting
We had a lovely time on the October Half Term Break. Really nice cottage. Very comfortable and spacious. Perfect setting if you want peace and quiet.
Absolutely gorgeous surroundings, peace and quite was the aim and that is definitely what we got.
we had a wonderful week away!
nice relaxing time. The owner was very polite and helpful, My dog had a wonderful time
Lovely quiet location, peaceful escape.
Dogs are welcome and there are many walks close by but a car is essential.
James, the owner is both warm and friendly and readily available.
The Lodges are in a beautiful peaceful setting and we were made very welcome by the helpful friendly staff. The lodge was extremely good value for money. The only drawback for us was that it was a long drive to visit anywhere and over the course of the week we had to do far more driving than we like to do on holiday.
good location a little out of the way but you cant have this type of retreat in a town etc the only downside was the onsite pub my wife and i walked the dog on arrival and walked down to (check out ) the pub the owner came out of the kitchen (and his dog) and informed us we cant walk the dog here we informed him we were only checking out the lay of the land he said we could not bring the dog to the pub when open as his dog doesnot get on with other dogs and then said he would see us later now as we would not leave our dog in the lodge we said no way and never set foot in the place . his loss we would have had food and drank in there every night the rest of the break was great
Best accommodation we have ever had,and first time we took the dog and it was excellent facilities for the dog thank you.
without your own transport you would be lost/great setting /nice and clean good value.
Great peaceful location which is very clean and we'll maintained with friendly helpful staff.
The lodge was perfect in a really remote beautiful location and contained everything you would need for a week away. It was a really great size and spotless, as was the surrounding grounds. The area and site is really dog friendly (apart from the on site pub) so a great choice if you are taking away your four legged friend.
We had a wonderful stay, very relaxing and quiet. The owner was very helpful and friendly and as it is a small development we found other guests really friendly. The lodges are spacious and homely, although the sofa a tad uncomfortable. The decking was great and was lovely to sit outside but the gaps in the decking made it difficult for our small dogs. However overall a wonderful stay and will book again.
Very quiet and in the countryside. Lovely clear skies at night. Deer and ducks passing through.Excellently clean lodge and very helpful staff. Welcome pack, t tea towel, provided.
Welcomed by James the grounds man, host, and all round person, whom showed us to our lodge and gave all the information on looking after the lodge i.e. electric meter which takes pound coins
Average spend on electric whilst staying there was £30 for the week but does depend on how much electric you use and what month you stay at the lodge.
With the amount paid for staying at the lodge you would have thought electric would have been included in the price and for free.
Emersion boiler to heat water not a good feature as it will eat the electric up.
The settings for the location is ideal for those wanting peace and quiet, and great for star gazers as it is very dark with little street lights torches are a must.
