Fantastic time. Can't wait to go back
Absolutely loved this holiday! Beautiful setting with two nearby lakes which made fantastic walks. Loved watching the stars appear at night from the hot tub. The lodge was quiet and very well equipped and the on-site pool, spa and games room was an unexpected bonus. We would definitely return but for a longer break next time :)
Being able to hire the swimming pool, sauna & steam room just for us was brill.
The owners were very helpful and friendly.
We had a lovely mid week break at exmoor gate and the guys who run this place are an absolute testament to themselves. Nothing was too much trouble and just lovely people. The hot tub was delightful and I can't praise them enough. Lovely!
First family holiday in years loved it so quiet great place to relax hot tub was great and the private swimming pool that you can hire for just your family was brilliant we will definately be having another holiday there our children loved it and the owners were very helpful made my birthday weekend special
We had a fantastic few days at Exmoor Gate and certainly would go back. The setting is beautiful and lots of places to visit near by.
On arrival to the property I was 2 hours late to check in due to motorway traffic, however on calling the owners they were very facilitating and told me to call 30 minutes prior to arriving and I would be met.
I was shown around the property and instructed how to use everything.
We stayed in Appley Cottage and found that the property was absolutely beautiful so clean and had all the amenities that you could possibly need. Although it is not one of the lodges it is still very roomy and secluded from the view of passersby. The hot tub was to die for, my partner was working in the area hence my visit so this was an ideal chill out after he finished work. Didn't even bother us that there was no phone signal, however the wifi is top notch.
We only had a quick nosey in the games room and swimming pool but these would have been great add ons had we had more time.
Also although there is top up electricity costs, hardly any money is required. We made the mistake of topping up too much and hardly using any.
The area is very beautiful and the nearest village is approx a 10 minute drive away and here you will find everything need, and the locals are so friendly. After having a meal and drinks at 'The Bear' the owner drove us back, as the cost of taxis would have been very expensive.
We had a perfect, relaxing stay and were so sad to leave. Brilliant value for money and would definitely return.
Very pretty site but rather a lot of prohibitive notices rather than welcoming ones. No toilet facilities other than in the accommodation so a problem for people who arrive a little early.
Absolutely stunning countryside, the accommodation was superb, the hot tub amazing, will definitely visit again.
Our dogs found the gravel pathways difficult to walk on and transporting heavy suit cases, that could normally be wheeled from the car, very difficult. The cottage that we stayed in, even though we had all of the heaters on was very cold inside. They were the only two negatives. They were friendly and helpful and there are some lovely walks that you can go on on site and very nearby. Overall a great holiday, apart from the weather we had but nobody can control that! :-)
Every one had a great time. Loved the hot tub. Easily found something to do everyday. Would certainly stay here again.
It is so lovely and quiet with great food nearby and lots of places to walk locally.
We had a lovely break at Exmoor Gate Lodges. It's just a shame there's nothing on site to do. We were all surprised with the quality of the lodge. It was beautiful.
I very much enjoyed my stay at Exmoor lodge during the Easter holiday. My children loved the swimming pool and play area. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Exmoor Gate Lodge.
Lovely week break ,would defiantly go back there ,the hot tub was amazing ,will recommend to our friends
