A nice, quiet area! Short drive to Eastbourne beach. Location is good.
Wonderfully kitted out lodge - wants for nothing, small thoughtful things made a massive difference to the holiday, the tea/coffee/milk being already there, the tea towels and washing up liquid, the oil for cooking with to the toilet rolls, all were much appreciated. Some thought to providing sanitary bags for ladies to use would be really appreciated as the septic tank does not allow disposal of such items. The lodges were warm and cosy, and all cleaning tools provided to keep the lodge spick and span.
Yes - the site is under development and is far from being completed, but that is a small issue and should not stop anyone from enjoying their stay there. The position of the site makes it easy to access the major routes to Brighton, Eastbourne and further afar. The pub was unfortunately closed during our stay so cannot comment on its worthiness except to say, it is VERY close to the site so not far to wobble back after a good feed and watering. Petrol station with shop opposite the site that is open 24hrs for any emergency essentials. I would most definitely return here, and have encouraged friends and family to give it a look too.
Someone greeted us when we arrived to make sure we got in ok and showed us how to use the facilities, we were left a telephone number in case we needed help but was not bothered again during the whole stay which was great, someone also called me before we arrived to talk through arrival.
Very secure and friendly.
Fantastic! Loved it! Hot tub was amazing! Although did run out of water on the last day.
We really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was very clean and modern.
overall very quiet and relaxing would definitely go back
This is a lovely little lodge - it has all the mod cons, and we wanted for nothing. There was even milk, coffee, tea etc for when we arrived! We had no complaints about the lodge itself and were more than happy with our stay!
I have given the helpfulness of staff a rating of 5 as we didn't come into contact with any members of staff during our stay, although there were plenty of helpful leaflets and information in the lodge.
I've also rated the location and surroundings 4, as although the lodge itself is lovely, it's currently not a completed site so the view is a building site. It's also very far from things to do during the day and there is nothing to do in the evenings - although it's marketed as having a pub on site, this appears to be closed all the time, and there is nothing else within walking distance.
These would definitely not stop us returning, we had a wonderful time and were more than satisfied with the lodge and the hot tub. This was our second stay at Golden Cross Lodges and we will definitely be back!
Nice accommodation quiet setting good hot tub hard to find initially
felt very let down over the only pub in the area and what i thought was connected to the complex was shut with nothing else in walking distance other than the petrol station opposite!
The park looked a little shabby on arrival.
Nice lodges on a small park, quiet except for a bit of noise from busy road but this is not really bothersome. Nicely decorated and the welcome pack is a nice touch. The Hot tub is great and makes it extra special.
Having paid a lot of money for this lodge although the lodge itself was nice the lodge was just plonked in the middle of the site near horrible old caravan which cud look in to the lodge and the hot tub. The pub near the site was closed and the places to eat nearby we're not as close as we were told. No welcome either and the hot tub man came at all to clean it.
Lovely lodge and great venue, only problem was we where not advised the pub by the site was closed as we where expecting to have dinner there on the first night only to find it was closed when we got there & then no other places to eat within walking distance.
No staff on sites scored lower due time ongoing development of sites. Lodge however was fantastic.
