WE FOUND THE HOLIDAY PARK VERY TIERD AND MUCH IN NEED OF SOME REFURBISHING IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE SET UP.
Definitely a beautiful location with the loch just feet from my verandah.Mountains, birds, wildlife, all on the doorstep just looking out of the windows.
The lodge itself was very spacious with 3 bedrooms all with full size beds.Really comfy ones too. There are heaters in all rooms which you definitely need if you go early or late season.
Plenty of room for 6 people in the lounge diner.Watch the electric used though as it is charged at the end.
One bedroom heated from 8-10pm for 4 nights, the emersion heater on....was £4.50.
Central for Nevis Range, Fort Augustus Caledonian Canal lock staircase,Nessieland,Cairngorm mountains.
Well maintained park but staff not always available when you need them and few and far between.
Great for the dog except she had to be on lead all the time which was a great shame.
Had a great week will definitely be going back a lot more to explore.
Terrible cabin smelt like damp dog, hoover stunk of sick and we had to use a bucket to flush the toilet. Utterly disgraceful accommodation. Staff refused to change/ help then tried to charge me £30 electricity on leaving for a final kick in the teeth.
I recommend this lodage
Very relaxing break
In general we were happy with our stay in the Great Glen Water Park. The facilities on site were rather diappointing - the pool was smaller than expected, and the bar only opened on one evening (Saturday).
The park is beautifully situated next to a loch, but it was necessary to drive to get to any walking trails.
Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday
When we went to reception to ask about walks in the area the staff weren't very helpful. but the staff were pleasant on arrival and departure.
We booked a lodge facing the loch, after a travel of 12 hours we were given an old lodge overlooking the shrubs which was worn out. We took it the staff at the reception who was initially not too keen to change the lodge but eventually gave us one with lovely views of the loch. We had to pay electricity charges seperately as it was not included in the price. Overall a good experience
Fab holiday, felt the sports were rather pricey for a large family - apart from that 10 out of 10
Lovely location. Very peaceful. Smashing site. Totally recommend for a quiet getaway.
The place is in a fantastic location, however the Site is tired and in need of a dramatic overhaul and facelift.
The staff require proper training, no one there knows how to deal with the public, the food is awful, all prepackaged and tastes like cardboard.
We had an lovely time at the Great Glen Water Park, the views were amazing, the lodges were clean and tidy and the few minor problems we had were dealt with quickly. We were lucky enough to have the swimming pool to ourselves every morning (it`s not very big but adequate)
The lodge was quite basic with minimal kitchen equipment and no information on how to operate the heating/oven/microwave etc. Bathroom suite very dated. However, the view and setting made up for this. Wonderful sitting looking at the birds and the lake. Swimming pool lovely and warm too. The staff were a bit serious but helpful apart from the cleaners coming into our lodge 30 minutes before checkout time despite the fact we were still there!
