I found the accommodation terrible.it was dirty and there was mildew in the bathroom..spent my holiday sleeping on the sofa as the mattresses were to thin and being a dissabled person ended up in a lot of pain.isle of white is a nice place but holiday accommodation was dreadful and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
On arrival and looking round the cabin we found it to be veryclean w ith the exception of the living room carpet whichneeded a deep clean.
However in addition the top drawer holding cutlery in thekitchen was falling to pieces and was unusable, the main entrance door was rotting away.
Having said that we really enjoyed our holiday in your beautiful, seeking out the first class eating houses, making visits to beautiful resorts and villages.
We have been to the Isle of Wight many times and love the island. Gurnard is well situated to get to other parts of the island. The facilities are excellent with indoor and outdoor pool, restaurant and gym.
A little disappointed that there wasn't a separate bar area, But it was very peaceful place to come back to at the end of the day,and the lodge was lovely.
Lovely relaxing break
We had read reviews before going and some where negative, all i can say is these people must be used to 5 star holidays. It is a get what you pay for resort. The accommodation was clean dry and warm with good wash facilities, The kitchen served its purpose for a family of 5. Nice comfy furniture. The TV was old and square but worked well.
There was a large grass area outside the lodge that the children could play on and be insight.
The soft play area was clean and free from ware and tare, the swimming pool was clean and had the added feature of floats that the children enjoyed playing on.
The pub was good food and a fair price.
Disappointments - only 2 things really, the outside decking area is in need of repair or replacement but looking at other cabins this is underway, and we never found the outdoor play area despite working round the whole site.
Overall i would happily stay there again.
We love this site and return here every year because its so peaceful and not crowded and we love Cowes. Unfortunately the lodges are in urgent need of some tlc and a thorough clean.
Although the chalet was spacious and clean. Parts of the park are very run down and it needs a major overhaul. The new shop was good and provided a good selection of items. The parks location on the island mesnt it was easy to get to attractions.
I wouldnt stay on this park again unless it had a total refurbishment.
The only thing we would like to see changed is a better welcome pack when you arrive. The map that we were provided only showed the accommodation numbers. There was no indication of where anything else was like the swimming pool, shop etc. More information about what activities you could do either on site or nearby would be helpful as well.
The facilities are better than a couple of years ago with the arrival of the shop and expansion of the restaurant menu, however there are still a couple of issues, there needs to be a couple of family changing cubicles for the pools, monkey mansion closing time is ridiculously early considering it is unstaffed and more evening entertainment would be nice.
Very nice location, rustic lodge comfortable and spacious.
Only negative points really are: 1) a small play park would have been nice for our 2 year old; 2) my husband found the mattress on the double bed uncomfortable and I did notice that the base was a bit broken; 3) the door to the lodge was very bowed and in a different season would have been drafty.
Overall we were pleased with our stay, the leisure facility and shop were a real bonus.
Did not realise that 90% of the site had permanent tennants, and such a shame that most of them did not stick to the 5mph Limit!!!
We had a great time. This was our second visit and hope to return next year.
Nice place, good location just needs a bit of TLC.
the so called villa was like something out of the 1970 s dirty outdated tired etc etc I have not been anywhere so bad since I was 17 I am 49 now that tells you how poor it was
