really dark trying to find the place when we arrived. Lights and fuses blew when we first switched the lights on. Mattress on double bed was sooooo worn we could feel the springs through it. the bewd was small, way too hard and the thin mattress was apaulling, we asked for another but was given a quilt to put underneath. indoor heated pool was really cold and the hot tub was too cold on eth last day.
Room was clean but had an unusual aroma and a very smelly dishwasher.
On arrival, our oven didnt light. So one of the staff came and looked at the oven - didnt really know what he was doing. Eventually he gave us a lighter so we could manually light the oven. The double bed was broken which we did not discover until late at night. It was the bottom half which was all caved in. We reported this and the oven again to reception. They promised the maintenance man would visit our accomodation and deal with the issues. This didnt happen. We complained again to reception. They then gave us 2 sets of keys to other chalets. We went to look at them and discovered they were in a worse state than our chalet. One chalets oven all the controls were melted and didnt light. One of the chalets all the air vents had been blocked up with tissue. We decided to stick with our original chalet and make the best of a bad situation. The bed situation could easily have been rectified by switching the faulty end with another bed in on of the many unoccupied chalets. The bar closed early every night, which was a disappointment. The whole campsite was looking very tired and dated.
Great place good swimming pool and Jim and location.
some area are getting to the point of updating such as carpet in main building and outdoor pool had not been cleaned for some time, but indoor pool and other facilities were great.
Lovely long weekend break which was very good value for money. The weather was excellent for the time of year and the hot tub a real treat. Everything was clean and accommodation spacious. The pool and sports complex is a bonus. Remember to take some food with you if you plan to arrive late. The centre could do with a small shop.
Lodges are a great size and the hot tub makes for an enjoyable break.
Love the location and site, not enough staff so club/ bar was closed,
Accommodation was lovely and clean for the money we played however children's play area been out of action since at least the summer, was told in the bar they were no longer serving food as it was quiet so they decided to close early!!! I was there with my 16mth old so going out not an option! When I complained reception staff most unhelpful! Oh and swimming pool was far too cold my daughter was shivering so had to get out
This was our second visit and we will definatly be going again..
Good value for the price we paid, especially with having a hot tub in our apartment. If I had paid more than I did I would have been slightly disappointed. The rooms were very very spacious & cooking facilities were good if you don't want to eat out. It's a bit far away from most points of interest on the island. I personally didn't really like the IOW and won't be going back in a hurry. But if you want somewhere cheap to stay & use as a base then this is ideal. The apartment we stayed in which was the Solent plus 2 was in desperate need of a face lift!!!
Ivbooked the villa before we saw all the reviews and after reading them I almost didn't go I don't holiday in Britain because of bad experiences in the past! We are so pleased tho that we did go, everything about it was great. I can only assume that improvements have been made or just a lot of miserable people like to complain, for no reason !
Very nice bungalow with hot tub. Disappointing was the facilities on site were closed by 8pm meaning we had to drive to eat out etc.
The lack of WiFi to the chalet was the fly in the ointment, given the poor coverage by mobile service operators in the Iske of Wight and the somewhat patchy availability in your cafe.
The staff were great... just hampered in their ability to be helpful by the unavailability of facilities.
Loved the peace and the red squirrel I saw early one morning
The chalet was very spacious and really nicely decorated, to be honest it was much better than we had expected! We spent most of our holiday out and about so didn't make much use of the onsite facilities but of what we did see it was all very nice. The only reason I knocked a couple of marks off of the location and surroundings was because there appear to be quite a few permanent residents living amongst the holiday chalets in more run down properties with washing hanging out etc. It didn't really bother me but my husband thought it made it feel a bit uncomfortable.
When we arrived, there was no cot and high chair in our room even though we had paid for them. However, this was quickly resolved with a call down to reception. In fairness, we were allowed to check in early so they may not have got around to delivering them yet.
