Absolutely fabulous location with easy access. Ideally located for many attractions. Plenty of facilities on the park but quite low key. All the staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful.
Stayed in a gold lodge for first week of school holidays in July. Check in/ out was quick and easy. Fabulous accommodation, could not fault at all. The foxy club for the children was brilliant, both stripy Lauren and Stripy Jeff were fantastic with the children! We only have one slight negative and that was the pool was closed on our last two days, due to a problem with the air conditioning I believe. It could not be helped I am sure, but one of the main reasons we chose this venue is that should the weather be bad (which is was last two days) there were still things to do with the children. A most enjoyable holiday and would definitely go back.
Although a little dated, Killigarth is a lovely, quiet family site. It is perfectly located to explore the surrounding area. My four year old loves the children's mini disco with the stripeys. We stay in a lodge when there, as they have 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom plus on an en suite shower room. I will definitely be going back.
The Gold Lodge was good, but not the cleanest. The site is in a beautiful position, with lovely views, but the park is looking tired, and is in need of a refurbishment, with a good deal of investment being required. The children's park is old and needs updating, the swimming pool is ok, but again needs investment and changing rooms are poor with only 1 shower. The sauna is also ok, but is very old and tired. The crazy golf is stuck in the 1960's, which shows with it's condition. The staff on site however were of the highest standard, particularly the entertainment stripy team, especially stripy Lauren, what a truly wonderful young lady, who made one of my children's holiday. Although the investment is needed, this would not stop us from returning again, and are currently planning to do that next year. The park is an honest one, rough at the edges, but with the right investment to bring it up to date, this would be a 10 star park.
We stayed in one of the lodges and if was lovely - we did have a problem with the oven not working but as soon as we mentioned it somebody came out literally 10 mins later. The staff here were fantastic so helpful and the area is stunning. We wanted a park that had a small amount to do in the even
Facilities very dated and tired. Needs money spent to do things up. Play park, crazy golf, gym and Tennis court don't look like they've been updated in years. Changing facilities for swimming pool very cramped with one red hot shower that could easily scald a child. Disappointing.
The entrance and buildings on the left need major uplift. The entrance door to the reception was in need of a good clean and the reception area was dark and not welcoming
A wonderful fantastic week the weather we had made it better that's why we have previously booked for same time next year but for two weeks and paid a deposit hopefully in a lodge... Thank you for a great holiday
Holiday was really nice enjoyed it only one thing the caravan was a bit dirty just because we have dogs we are clean and it was very noisy where we were the first caravan, traffic From the the road and people walking past from the club late, we had gone away for peace because my husband is ill.
Nice and quiet. Very relaxing. impressed by the lodge. Would definitely stay again.
Overall a great holiday, had trouble with hot water on the 1st day, but was sorted on the Sunday, as we did not want to move to another lodge after unpacking our belongings. The manager did offer to move us and gave us access to a nearby lodge to use the shower. the club was OK and a lot smaller than our previous visit about 12 years ago. however the entertainment person explained why this was and on the 3 times I went in the club he was enthusiastic and did a good job of running the entertainment. The quiz he did was particularly different but enjoyable. The location is great and we had sunny weather for the whole week.
Had a fabulous stay in a static caravan, (silver), it allowed dogs of which we had 2 and although we felt that £40 each on top of the rent was a bit steep we understand that there is a bit more to the cleaning of the home when vacated. Caravan was well equipped and very much suited our lifestyle for the week. Plenty of warm water, radiators, gas fire. The view from out caravan was immense, so much so we could not bare to leave the net curtains across we pulled them back to enjoy the view through the week. Handy for both Looe & Polperro, would love to return.
Good site for location but no staff around , closed pool early, manager didn't call when promised and condition of caravan not very good. The site is not in a good way and not being managed well.
Didn't use the pool and club (we had very good weather so were always out) so I can't rate these but looked ok. We had a lodge (privately owned) at a good discount (late booking) hence 10 for value for money. However, the mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable. Also, we booked a no dogs lodge but the owners must have a dog since in the cupboard were dog bowls, balls etc. which could have been a problem if any of us had allergies. Rest of the lodge was fine and well equipped. Staff were always helpful and polite the few times we interacted with them. Area has nice walks (but steep in places) and park grounds were clean and tidy. Polperro is picturesque but parking is pricey so walking down is cheaper (but a steep climb back). Looe is also quaint (parking is cheaper in the car park to the land side of the main bridge and free after 6pm).
Great location. Great holiday park. We had a really lovely 4 night stay in a brand new caravan. No problems at all apart from the beds which were very uncomfortable.
