We stayed for three nights in a lodge with a hot tub and loved every minute,it was clean though a little dated, the lodge was idealy placed for touring the highlands.the only downside was a recomendation for a pub down the road which served disgusting food.
We were worried when we arrived as the site looked so basic compared to sites where we have stayed previously. However, don't judge a book by it's cover. The site has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are so friendly and obliging. The site is well cared for and sympathetic to the environment. The lodge that we had was very clean, spacious and easily heated. It was an excellent visit. I have recommended it to family and friends. I intend going back soon. Kiltarlity is an excellent base to explore the north and west. Just remember when saying 'Kiltarlity' to stress the 'tar' or all the locals will correct you.
Great location and plenty places to visit nearby. Loch Ness only few mile away.
Enjoyed swimming pool for morning swim. Pool was clean and kids loved it.
Had a great week at the lodge. Clean and tidy and great value. will be back next year.
The lodges were immaculately clean and very well equipped.
Lots for kids to do and little details like board games available.
My one reservation about booking again now for next Easter, is that we both found the double bed to be very uncomfortable. I had to pad it out with the extra blankets provided, and even then we both still had very sore backs and didn't sleep well at all. If this is sorted out we will definitely be back next year.
Great stay here, family really enjoyed it apart from hottub not working properly and needed to be drained everyday, we would definitely come back x
A great friendly place, great for children and teenagers. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Would recommend this holiday for people with a family, it is not 5* but great value for money.
Staff was friendly and welcoming are lodge was nice and warm when we arrive. And are electric was put on for us which was very good because we arrived very late for booking in. We had a telephone call to say we're key will be. The lodges very clean. no complaints.
we arrived late to find a message telling us where to find the key and electricity on the meter after a long hard journey due to weather conditions it was most welcoming to be able to just put the kettle on and unpack the site was lovely and the staff extremely helpful. Also I have to add the lodge was spotlessly clean I would recommend it to anyone
Lodge was immaculate hot tub brilliant, beautiful location staff friendly and helpful, great wee pub down the road great location very peaceful would definately recommend to others for a relaxing break
Nice place and great surroundings! Lodges are a bit dated and not as modern as expected but they were very clean and staff were very friendly!
Very clean lodge however the beds mere old and uncomfortable and the TV equipment was very old and dated which let the overall quality of the lodge down. Also I would rather the the cost of the electricity was built in to the price of the holiday instead of having to go and buy electric cards for the electric meter, after all you are on holiday and don't want to worry about running out of electric.
we enjoyed our stay despite the cold temperatures we experienced in the week in January, it was very beautiful and the cabin was adequately supplied, the only draw back was that everything was electric card meter, not prepayment with the booking, and in the week we were there we spent a lot of time feeding the meter, storage heaters and air convector heaters are not my favourite form of heating, they are greedy, and I would have preferred central heating and radiators. However, expensive as we found it, everything else was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would not recommend it for sub zero temperatures if you have the choice to go in the summer when you will not be finding the need to have the heating on continuously to simply keep the cabin at a comfortable temperature. The hot tub was gorgeous, but some paving to walk upon between the hottub and the cabin rather than the gravel chips would have been more comfortable and practical.. .we didn't have spare shoes, only hiking boots, which we needed to keep dry, and in the cold climate of January, we had anticipated having decking or slabs upon which our barefeet would walk to the hot tub... spare shoes for this purpose or flip flops would have been a great advantage. It was an ouchy experience hobling over the sharp chippings in the aftermath of a relaxing session in the hot tub.
Altogether, the area and surrounding tranquility, the walking in Boblainy Forest with our dogs, and the pleasant and helpful staff it was a fantastically peaceful site.
We originally booked another park further up in Scotland. Unfortunately, the park had to close due to bad weather conditions as we could not access the park due to fallen trees and they had no electricity. Kiltarlity lodges accommodated us at very short notice. They phoned me to ask what time we were arriving and as reception was closing, they left our lodge unclocked and put electric on the card meter for us. Staff are very friendly and helpful with any query/problem.
Nice location to explore the Highlands. A lovely little pubs just over a 5 min drive away. More restaurants in a village about a 15 min drive away.
If you are trying to find the lodge for the first time in the dark you may struggle as the signs are very small till you come to the large one at the end of the drive.
