Brilliant quality accommodation in a lovely, accessible area
Most enjoyable stay.
Great time - only issue is the pool gets very busy and you have to wait.
Lovely peaceful site in a very accessible location as long as you have a car. The swimming pool, kids play area, mini golf and Duck pond were plenty to keep our 2 boys (6 and 2) happy. Didn't sample the bar and restaurant. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Having read some negative reviews, we were worried about our visit. We had absolutely no need. The village was perfect for us. Warm, helpful staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere, lovely pool and great views from the jacuzzi!! Accomodation was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a great weekend. Would definitely return.
love whitbarrow village - there is something to keep all the family happy , and in a beautiful and quiet area near many of the best spots in the northern lakes
Overall very good, however the lack of WIFI is a major issue as we wanted to search the internet for things to do during our very wet stay and this was near impossible unless you sat in reception.
Bed mattresses were in a bad way and need replacing, and some of the kitchen things - knives were completely blunt.
Swimming pool good, although can get busy on a wet day and they limit the number that can go in to 30.
Great area to stay in, lovely pub at the end of the road.
Staff in bar/restaurant are friendly.
Lovely quiet location, but not great for kids - very little to do. Would recommend for couples looking for a quiet few days though
area was fine village was fine, my husband did slip getting into the jaccuzzi at the leisure facilities reulting in a broken toe and a trip to the local hospital but other than that it was ok
beds were too soft the receptionist didn't know anything to do in the surrounding area apart from penrith the carpet was badly stained throughout and from the description lead me to believe there was wifi readily avalible eg in our accommodation a fan wasn't working properly in our ensuite reported it to reception but kept on getting fobbed off until I told them I was an electrician and the fan was broken and surprise surprise it was repaced an inspection panel fell off at 3 am on monday
Lovely location! Reception Staff only one was really friendly but she was really nice, the others I would rather not say. The site staff where lovely, nothing too much trouble, they new more about the area than the reception staff. The only thing that is lacking is a small shop or cash machine. I would of liked to of booked for Christmas and the New Year but very pricey.
Last minute booking caused us to pay over the odds.
Facilities look like they could do with an upgrade, crazy golf for the kids was poor, playground was tatty in places, kids games room was again not the best. Leisure facilities were good in respect to the swimming area. Majority of staff were helpful and friendly.
Facilities were in need of update - swimming pool, crazy golf etc. had seen better days. Bar meal was pretty dreadful. Our accommodation was still being cleaned at 4.30 on the first day, despite having arrived and checked in at 2 pm, and being told at 4 pm that it was ready. We complained to reception but never received an apology.
