We had a lovely family holiday here. Great location, nice accommodation, fun entertainment and lovely staff. Facilities and surroundings will be great once changes completed.
Lakeview is ideal for traveling around Cornwall. However it is overpriced for the quality of accommodations.
Disspointing that the grounds / lakes were still undergoing work so late in May
The WIFI was appalling, and very disspointing from advertised, I needed to connect to work emails during my stay, really needs to be sorted even if a paid for service...lots of connections none of them reliable or able to connect easily, speed was next to useless.
We had a lovely 4 day stay at Lakeview.
The lodge was spacious enough for our family of 5, including 2 teenagers.
It was spotlessly clean and well equipped.
The location is good too, and very easy to find.
Our only negative would be that there was no wi-fi in the lodges or cabins, you had to go to the reception area, where the connection was dodgy to say the least.
The facilities were good, too, with a decent sized swimming pool, golf and tennis, take your own equipment, though, to avoid charges.
We have decide not to return as the owners are planning a Butlin-esque expansion, not to our liking.
Keep it small and friendly, otherwise it will lose its charm!
Really enjoyed our stay here, helpful staff, nice grounds and was located centrally for what we needed. I did feel that the accommodation was feeling a bit tired and could do with a refresh.
Second time me and girlfriend have stayed here....but this time we brought my partners dad and stepmom, we had a wonderful relaxing holiday, fantastic accommodation with a hot tub but the thing that really made our holiday was Lisa and Adrian the entertainment team...made us so welcome and kept us wonderfully entertained...see you soon both x
We have recently returned from a 4 night break as s group of 14.
As a group of mixed ages this place had all you need for a short break. Lovely location, very clean lodges, pool, grassy areas for the children. Cafe, restaurant, bar etc. the staff were very helpful and we had a small issue with the hot tub and by the time we had walked back to our lodge maintenance had already been.
The lodges are spacious and clean and you can see that the owners are gradually refurbishing each property and improving all areas.
We would definitely return.
cold showers in both the lodge and changing rooms to the swimming pool/gym. The changing rooms needed updating. Ensuite to the main bathroom had cracked floor tile and mildew on the grout.
The park was very quiet, the lodge was very spacious, the staff were very friendly and welcoming . The facilities are lovely only thing is they didnt have lockers in the changing rooms.
The lodge we stayed in was very comfortable and had everything we needed - particlularly like the privacy as the lodges are very well spaced and laid out on tree lined "avenues". The lakeside is pretty however at the back of the lodges near the tennins courts are some disused caravans and a collection of rubbish. The golf course, whilst cheap to play on, was in poor condition - 1 of the 9 holes was no longer there , the grass on some of the greens had been cut with the flags still in leaving longer grass around the holes and the fairway grass was so long in places we lost balls on the fairway! The tennis courts were ok and the swimming pool was great although nowhere to lock valuables in the changing rooms. We didn't try out the gym or the fishing. The restaurant was nice and we had a good meal there. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Overall the resort feels as if it needs an injection of cash to tidy things up and improve the facilities especially the golf.
On getting there the hot tub was stone cold. The power was off on the hole site
The next day we had no water.
Cound not use the hottub for 24hrs as needed to heat up. The cabin was nice but bathrooms molding and needed fixing
Hottub lid was falling apart and jets not working
Other than that was lovely
Lovely cottage with great views. Lots of peace and quite and space. Wifi was poor and would benefit from a small onsite shop. Entertainment team were great but a poor turn out made it hard work for them. Could do with a few more lodges with a hot tub. But a fantastic week enjoyed by the whole family.
Lovely accommodation but whirlpool bath didn't work. Pool lovely but could get crowded as not as big asking the picture. Poor choice for food in the club house unless you love burgers at hot dogs. Loved the holiday but a little disappointed given the price
Very tired and outdated. Facilities not as described on website i.e. no sauna, no Wi-Fi, no indoor play area for the kids (apparently not open until the holidays).
Pool area disappointing. Small pool for the amount of people the place can accommodate. Not user-friendly. We went to use the family changing facilities but there was no shower or locker in there. We ended up having to change the kids by the pool as it was easier and we walked back to our lodge in our swimming costumes to shower and change! The shower which guests are supposed to use prior to swimming basically flows straight into the swiming pool!
On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful. They did move us to a different lodge when we complained that ours was waterlogged and smelled damp. In the new lodge we had a problem with ants in our toddlers room. They came and dealth with it promptly and were very apologetic. Staff apologised themselves and admitted the place needed money spent on it and modernising.
