Dirty caravan, not dog friendly as stated
We enjoyed our trip here. We were only there for the 4 nights so didn't really use many of the facilities on site. However, the site itself was absolutely fine. It was clean & family friendly. The pool looked lovely & the club's were nice too. Not a lot in the arcade to play but enough for our 2 kids to be happy with. We did have an issue with the cleanliness of the caravan on arrival. It had obviously had a quick going over & the beds were made up but the carpet hadn't been vacuumed & there were wet towels left in a wardrobe from prevous guests. When we complained about this & missing bedding for the lounge pull out the staff didnt come & it wasn't rectified & we had to chase it up. The bedding eventually got delivered on our 2nd night there but the carpet still hadn't been vacuumed by the time we left.
The location of the park is what really let's it down & this is obviously no reflection on the park itself. Rhyl, I imagine, would have been nice at one point but now is run down old & dirty. It still has pleanty of tourism though & planning for a new retail & leisure facility so maybe in years to come it might be revived & worth a trip back. As it is I would be more inclined to pay a little extra & travel to Llandudno which is beautiful.
All in all, if this park were in a different location I would be happy to return for another family holiday.
Our stay was not the most brilliant I have ever stayed at a holiday site. One of the most annoying parts was the outdated TV that we had. We had an old fashioned box TV. It was sooo outdated that the programe channels would make a horrible noise whilst the programe was on. On the second night our TV remote batteries ran out and I had to ring security to get the issue sorted. He firstly said that it wasn't his responsibility and i had to buy my own and I stated then it was his responsibility as he was the nearest I could to a representative of the caravan site and it was his equipment.
Eventually he arrived with some batteries but the whole TV had to be retuned as it had lost its connection to the freeview box. Unfortunately he could not do it and he said to ring in the morning to the maintenance team.
The maintenance member of staff the next day was really surprised as the TV was really old but managed to retune it for us.
We visited the entertainment section of the park on the last night and was disappointed firstly how hot the room was as there was no air conditioning at all and for an area that would be used by a lot of people that was totally unacceptable ( also I was nearly 7 months pregnant).
The entertainment team were more preoccupied with themselves than the little people they were supposed to entertaining.
One member of staff was yawning and looked totally uninterested. Another member of staff was fiddling with her hair all evening and the other member of staff was taking selfies whilst the power went out.
To me that is unacceptable not only for the children but for the adults too.
The power had failed for the third night running the children were not ressurred that it would be OK. The entertainment team could of sang a song to calm the children down as some were really frightened as emergency lighting was awful as they were not over emergency exits and these should of been opened as it was an emergency. The staff lacked the knowledge what to do in this situation let alone anything else that might of happened. The lighting fault was fixed by a customer staying in the hotel and they said it should of been sorted sooner and not by them but he stepped in as he was an electrician. This should of been sorted by maintenance or an external electrician.
The toilets were awful in this section there was no toilet roll and all the doors were broken in the ladies section.
Overall it was not a pleasant stay and major improvements are needed to reach standards of other holiday parks.
I hope they are able to improve these issues next season.
Vast majority of staff only too helpful & friendly.
Just one a receptionist would be better served working at a doctors surgery.
Good location for getting out and about . Seemed to be some inexperienced staff in shop / reception . The reception not as efficient as should be , ie 2 staff dealing with 1 customer and queue forming . Swimming pool /area excellent . Although I think a limit on size of inflatables would be advised .
Within an hour of arrival we'd had to unblock the kitchen sink and fix the curtains, plus there were no toilet rolls and only one bin bag so first impressions were pretty poor, but overall we enjoyed our 4 night stay. The site facilities were good and there was very little noise at night from other caravans. The pool was pretty decent too.
I'd recommend visiting Boddelwyddan castle (£23 for 7 of us), the miniature railway at Marine Lake and the beach.
We'd go again but I doubt there'd be anything to do that we hadn't already done.
Visited for second time.brilliant holiday staff great kids had a ball love this place
This is a nice site which we have visited before, but we don't really tend to use the facilities very much except for the pool which was always very clean.
Great holiday and venue, staff could not have been more helpful. A plan/overview of the main complex would have been helpful as the entertainment room was not immediately evident as access was through the sports bar, along the pool access corridor and then into the room.
Caravan we stayed in (8 berth) needed alot of repairs . Boiler wouldnt lite when takeing shower had to keep restarting it plus the shower kept leaking . Food on site was poor . Only good thing about the park was the swimming pool . When going to club house no sercurity about there were alot of kids climbing on top of the money rides out side trying to climb on club roof i had to take my child off the rides because he got scared
Had lovely time at marine staff friendly park nice and clean lots of places close to visit
Good clean site with good amenities and close to the beach
Really enjoy it. We've been about 5 times now so they must be doing something right!
The silver grade caravan was absolutely awful. I had to clean it before we could stay in it. It's was filthy. The bathroom door fell off almost hitting my three year old. It was substandard. There were bugs in all the cupboards, the beds were very lumpy. Never again.
I did complain and got half our money back.
Overall nice break, the park was tidy with plenty of space between caravans. Easy access to beach and main roads to other parts of North Wales.
