Nice quiet site, but the nearby major road a bit noisy at night and lots of emergency vehicles going by. Wifi quite poor and very hard to log into. Log cabin ( well plastic log) very clean well looked after. Didn't find woodland area for cycling. Get food gasket on arrival. Would come again. Hot tub lovely but emptied 8am on last day so no last minute dip.
Great place, could not fault it, will 100% return.
We visited in August 15, stayed in no 12, the lodge was expensive for 1 week but that's the school holidays for you!
They could do with sorting out there late arrival set up. We were held up in traffic on the day of arrival phoned the sites telephone a 6.10pm and left a message to say we would be late leaving our approx time of arrival and our mobile number. Never received a call back! When we finally arrived at the park to a barrier pressed the call button the phone rang and rang. We then went and found the parks pub and a member of staff gave us the keys. It would have been really helpful if we knew this in advance and perhaps a sign at the barrier advising the late arrivals procedure.
In general the park was clean, the shop well stocked with a good selection of groceries. Staff in the shop and bar helpful & friendly. We didn't use the outdoor swimming pool but it looked nice.
Our break at Merley Woodland Park was great. Unfortunately the weather did not help but it proved to be an excellent centre for exploring Dorset and all it has to offer.
Spacious lodge, quiet surroundings. Easy access to local attractions. Limited site facilities.
Fabulous visit, very relaxing with a hot tub and lovely surroundings. It would have been a 10 but marked it down because it was very expensive
Good location, good facilities and a lodge with a hot tub meant that even when the weather is not set fair the grandchildren still had lots to keep them smiling.
Location was good for travelling about. Very peaceful setting. Site was clean. Site had a bar/restaurant and the food was nice, not too expensive and staff were all nice. Shop on site was well stocked. We all enjoyed our break.
Beautiful woodlandsetting and a gorgeous lodge to relax in. Very secluded and peaceful.
Good find. Quiet and relaxing park.
Nice setting but a little too quiet for our liking
Had a super time with our family at Merley Park. We were
Extremely happy with the presentation of our lodge and the standard of equipment. The park itself was very pleasant and located in the perfect spot to allow access to the surrounding area. Overall we couldn't fault this site or its facilities.
I only scored 8 on facilities as the pool was shut at Merley Wood the week we were there.however the pool at a neighbouring park was available for us to use and that was great.
The lodge was overshadowed by tall trees which I guess we should have expected, but it meant we saw very little sun.
Overall though it was a great holiday.
A lovely setting in a beautiful area. The lodge was very comfortable apart from the arrangement in the lounge area which was a little small for 4 adults. We were only 3 but found it was not comfortable for us all to sit on the settee at the same time. Would be better to have a 2 seated settee and armchairs. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful
Despite my initial annoyance at arriving at the resort at 18:00 after being told they wer open til 20:00 there was no one there. I had to call around to several sites until someone was tracked down to give us our keys. Not a relaxing start, but besides that the lodge was lovely very homely, and we had everything we needed there with many tescos within 9min drive. Lots of places to visit nearby but mainly a nice relaxing base for my family.
