When you say an apartment sleeps 4 be more specific as I would not have booked if I knew I am going to be sleeping on a sofa bed . I understand the place has character but it needs bringing into the 21st century. Shame about the gorgeous location.
We enjoyed a relaxing week in the midst of wonderful scenary. Both swimming pools were clean and very warm. The changing facilities for the indoor pool were very clean and well appointed. Free towels were provided which I don't think was mentioned in the booking information. The pub restaurant was very good and food was reasonably priced.
We love it at Plas Talgarth however the accommodation is becoming dated and in need of refurbishment, particularly the Villas. There is a strong damp smell internally and we needed to heat the property for most of the time we were there. Particularly evident when been out all day. Kitchen cupboard door hanging off hinges, patio base, patio table & chairs dirty, ground floor curtains not ironed and evidence of damp in window reveal and in under stair cupboard. Externally the building needs attention. Otherwise a great resort, fantastic location and good facilities. Staff not all that approachable though.
Cannot fault this, everything was just wonderful, Accommodation, Location, Staff, views, food, pool, etc etc I could go on. I certainly would recommend Plas Talgarth! Thank you.
A very nice place for a quiet and relaxing holiday
my second visit to Talgarth but did notice how dated the accommodation had become. My father was disabled and was very difficult to get him to, in and around the site and leisure buildings, which did make things very difficult. The staff were very helpful as far as they come be. The place has so much potential, cod be so much more than it is
Overall a good stay. Biggest negative point was that we were cold all week! We had all the heaters on nearly all the time and yet the accommodation was cold. When we came to check out the electricity bill was almost £70!! this was for a five night stay!! I did complain at the time and the person behind me waiting to check out supported my view, she too had been staying in a cold apartment. The receptionist gave no explanation or offered any option to take the complaint further. We left feeling slightly ripped off by such a large charge. If we had been warm I wouldn't have minded. Don't go in Winter!
Had our three granddaughters with us and had a wonderful time. More evening entertainment would have been a bonus but enjoyed the quiz night.
