Chris was very helpful.
Place was lovely as was the lodge but it could have been a lot cleaner - had only had a quick go through and left dust/dirt and cobwebs.
Hot tub lovely but not in sunlight understand it's there to be more private just a shame.
Would we stay there again - yes so much to see and do xx
Dissappointing stay - we were not advised that works on a lodge opposite would be ongoing all week - therefore workmen were there from 9 - 5 each day - this stopped us from being able to enjoy the patio/decking area all week. In addition groundmen were cutting the lawns for 3 of the 5 mornings with a loud power strimmer. Again disturbing the peace and stopping us from using the outside area.
There was a welcome pack in the lodge, but it had no information in it about the area, bar 2 menus for the same pub. There was no clarification that you needed to travel to the next town for anything.
The pack did advise that ants in the lodge were somtimes an issue - however we found that it was a constant problem, once we'd started to prepare food and had to continually kill the ants and clean worksurfaces. This was pretty off putting and along with the workmen and gardeners - really spoilt our stay.
The lodge itself is was perfectly nice, clean (prior to the ants)and roomy for a couple - the second room is tiny - fine for kids, but not really for 4 adults. It is supposed to be luxury, but I don't think it should really be classed as that. The living area is nicely decorated, with a large tv and nice fire, but then the settee is old and red, which doesn't match with the rest of the decor (just pointing this out as this spoils the look if the park is going for luxury accomodation). Another picky issue was that they provided canisters for tea coffee and sugar, however they were all empty (but not clean). As a luxury lodge, it would have been really welcoming to find a few complementary items.
We knew the park had no shops on site, which was fine, but it was disappointing that there was nothing within a reasonable walking distance.
Had no real dealings with staff during our stay, on arrival it was "here's your key, hand over your deposit and numbers are on the door for any issues".
Overall the holiday would have been really nice, the lodge had monies off, so we thought it was a bargin when we booked, billed as a luxury lodge with a hot tub.
However the constant interuptions and being overlooked by workmen / gardeners really spoilt the relaxing break we'd hope to have.
On departure we accidently left clothes in the lodge, on contacting the park they were super helpful in locating the items and promising to post them back to us, which we were really grateful for. However this didn't go to plan - and i didn't get my items back for almost 3 weeks -having called and texted several times and several people. The issue still isn't totally sorted even now.
Good cheap weekend away. Lovely interior and best bit was the hottub! Only problem was you do have to keep quiet past 10 and not use the hottub past this time which is a restriction when advertised as a holiday. Overall good value for money and in the heart of the British countryside!
The west wing was perfect for our family gathering, lovely big rooms for each guest. I think if the owners Had spent a bit more money it would be finished to a very high spec. Only downside there was a small garden bench which would never have seated 10 and the Hot tub was a bit murky on the 3rd and 4th day.
Lovely quiet place. We had a wonderful time. There wasn't many lodges there, it looked like a working progress but we loved that because it was so quiet and not over filled like previous parks we have been too. Would definitely go back!!
There was eight ladies enjoying a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of normal life, we had plenty of room and the lodge was beautiful. It had large rooms that easily accommodated is all without feeling we were cramped. The kitchen is stocked with all you need to cook. The hot tub was used extensively along with glasses of wine!!
We thought a couple of items would have improved our stay such as garden furniture, sun lounges would have been great for lazy afternoons. Also more towels and summer quilts. However this did not distract from a our relaxing break in beautiful surroundings, we have booked for next year.
Ranksborough Hall is a lovely peaceful place to stay, nothing on site, but that's what we like. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of lovely little villages, we visited Barnsdale Gardens, well worth a visit, also Rutland water, lovely walks and bike rides around Rutland water.
Enjoyed a relaxed and pleasant stay.
Property suitable for our party of four. A party of six, however, would struggle yo lounge comfortably on the sofa suite.
Will return and recommend to family and friends!!
We will definitely be back with the family this time thank you. Keep me informed of any last minute deals
Lovely house, easily fit the 10 of us and plenty of room for the kids to play.
Well equipped kitchen, enough of everything for 10 people.
Lovely family pub about 5 mins drive away the buttercross.
Loads to do in the area.
Would definitely coime back, hot tub was an added bonus!
A lovely lodge in a very quiet setting.Other guests seem to have found rather more to complain about than we did,for example-complaints about a cobweb! Yes we could see it high up on a light fitting but it wasnt the end of the world! The only things that could be improved were the lack of comfortable seating for the number of guests the lodge caters for and more lighting round the hot tub would be good. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding excellent[pillows were the best we have had in a rental property]
The surroundings are lovely but there's not an awful lot to do which was fine as we went to relax and enjoy the hot tub, unfortunately we had a not posted after the first night telling us we could not make any noise or use the hot tub after 10pm, I wasn't aware I was staying in a school dorm, it was signed The Warden. We chose to ignore the note, having paid for the place if I want to stay in the hot tub after 10pm I will, the only source of music we had was a docking station we brought ourselves, it wasn't what you would call loud anyway.
Had a fantastic few days in the West Wing. There were only 4 of us so we had plenty of room! The staff were helpful and keen to please. A gorgeous place to explore
On arriving up the long driveway, it was difficult to find the Cabin Park as it's called Brocklehurst Park (?).
Once unpacked all appeared fine however, with 6 ladies wanting to relax indoors due to the weather being cool and cloudy, we had to move the dining chairs in to the lounge as the sofa only seats 4 people ! There is enough space for an additional lounge chair so please included one .
The dishwasher is a nightmare to load and unload. It takes 2 people to hold the door down or the door just springs back ,, so we had to hand wash the pots !
Some light bulbs didn't work in the master bedroom and the hallway.
I have noted all these down in the comments book. I also noticed that some of these issues haven't been address even though they were noted back in February 2015.
I will be booking again sometime however,I hope these problems can get sorted a s a p for other customers to enjoy a relaxing break.
Disappointed that there is no shop on site or play area for children
