Ranksborough Hall was in a lovely part of the country and I would recommend it for anyone who has transport, you need to be prepared to drive each day. It is very quiet and although there was evidence of development work going on we were not disturbed at all.
Could do with a clubhouse or shop on site. Nice quiet break though.
Couldn't have wanted a better weekend, very relaxed and quiet surroundings.
I found Ranksborough so nice that i have booked again for christmas
A great place for a gathering of friends or family. Couldn't fault it and will definitely be returning.
The actual lodge was terrific and just what was needed. Although the cot and high chair were not there which we had paid for and we had to go around asking about them. Also although mostly clean there were a number of noticable higher cobwebs. A light has now been fitted to shine on the outside hot tub when required, but getting to the hot tub you are walking on tiny stones and taking them into the tub. also to take of the cover you need to walk around a muddy bit on the other side, Needs sorting.
Lovely place, close to village and only a couple of miles from Oakham.
Holiday overall okay- stayed friday to monday however partly ruined on saturday monring due to a spider infestation. Spiders covered the ceiling of the lodge in the sitting area and bathroom and after getting fed up of trying to kill them all reported to reception. Subsequently after about an hour wait someone was sent over, then after another hour wait a vacuum was brought over to hoover them up. the lady did try to move us to other accomodation however there was non available. Following this we spent the majority of Saturday morning hoovering spiders off the ceiling. In the description this lodge is described as 'luxury' however I feel that this is misguided as you would not expect this from a luxury lodge.
Dreadful place to stay. Please do not book there are clearly disputes with residents who also live on the estate and we were made to feel very unwelcome.
Great area, fantastic local pubs offering lovely homemade food
The site is in a good position with lovely entrance. Better signs are needed to directed people to the reception on arrival.
The reception shut at 5pm, no one was there to greet us, the contact number we were provided on the booking form did not work and we had to wait for an hour in the car before a member of staff arrived.
We had a lovely time but upon arrival it wasn't very clear where to report to pick up the keys - no obvious reception area. This also meant upon check out we were also unsure where to drop the keys off so just had to guess it was in the sales cabin.
The location of the lodge is spot on. Walking distance from local pub and some shops. Nice spot to have a good walk and quiet and peaceful.
The Lodge was really nice, however the twin beds were extremely small and no good for adults. The main room was however very nice and comfortable. The location and surrounding area is very nice indeed. The staff were really helpful and friendly.
