In the beautiful unspoilt village of Langham sits Ranksborough Hall in Rutland. This large grand house was built in 1893 for Lord Ranksborough who was then equerry to Queen Victoria. These days the hall and its surrounding fifty acres of parkland are now home to many exclusive residential and holiday homes as well as a lovely sited touring park. The delightful county of Rutland is definitely one of England’s best kept secrets as it has been mentioned many times now as ’The Cotswolds without the crowds’.Stroll from the Hall will take guests into the village of Langham with its two historic pubs and just two miles away is the market town of Oakham with its medieval castle, county museum, fine galleries, shops and a plethora of places to eat. For the gardening enthusiasts a visit to Barnsdale Gardens is a must. For the energetic there are plenty of walks with the Jurassic, Viking and Macmillan Ways to explore and with the famous Rutland Water very close by, the whole area will totally immerse everyone who visits the county into joining into Rutland’s lovely relaxed way of life. Enjoy a long and lazy lunch or an energetic day’s golf in the surrounding towns and villages around Ranksborough Hall.

Spacious accommodation. Needs tidying up. Too many loose wires. Obviously a work in progress.
The staff was not helpful at all . Requested equipment that was missing from unit, A few hour later , after telephone call, another hour later equipment finally arrived. but the tap in sink was not mended.
On the plus side the hot tub was a comfort. the area was great for sight seeing.
Faulty boiler, unsteady steps to accommodation, food from previous guests in cupboards and fridge
Hot tubs round the back and awkward to get to. Lodges too lose together, absolutely no privacy on the balcony. No recycling facilities!!! Comments from other guests had not been addressed: cobwebs still there from months back and still no batteries in the remotes. The accommodation was ok and clean enough. These are not lodges though, they are glorified caravans!
A fabulous relaxing weekend for one of our parties 40th Birthday. The hotub was fantastic.
No towels no toilet roll no get flip had to buy our cabin was the only one no bbq no table and chairs out side fence off side of hot tube was not finished work men every day was woken up not happy no Wi Fi signal there was poor worst holiday break I've ever had for what we payed was shocking
Lodge was in poor repair but staff, once we could get hold of them as so staff based on site, were helpful.
Demanded £100.00 cash deposit on arrival as there card machine was not working, and would not take a penny less. Its not our fault their machine was not working. Did not have £100.00 we offered what we had but they would not except anything less the £100.00 and we then had the drive the cash point about 2 miles away to get the cash.
There aren't any facilities on site but there is a lovely pub, The Wheatsheaf, in the village of Langham - 5 minutes walk away. Also great location for Rutland Water and the town of Oakham is a short drive away and nice for a look around. We were a little surprised that the site had more empty spaces than lodges (March 2015) but this may be different by the summertime and would create more of an atmosphere.
Very nice lodge, great for couples hot tub wonderful and local pub great. We would stay again a beautiful area. However, nothing on site and no shop.
The west wing is huge, and is of a high building spec internally, although some parts seem unfinished. Though this is affected by the other units in the hall. Broken windows,of other sections of the hall, and pigeons in the roof/loft made this a quirky place to stay. However friendly and attentive staff, great kitchen and dining room (s) and the hot tub, made the weekend really enjoyable.
Would give a higher overall rating if the log cabin hot tub/decking furniture was finished. The gate had not been put on until the second day.. And we had no patio furniture like the other cabins.
Nice little hideaway, staff were very friendly. Wi-fi definitely needs to be considered as none was available on site.
Had a great time at the Paradise Spa Lodge. Lodge itself was lovely- we couldn't have wished for anymore. The only disappointment was the Hot Tub. Great on first night but temperatures struggled to get above 33 on the other two nights. Had staff out numerous times but the issue couldn't be resolved! This was the only thing that let our stay down.
We came here for my birthday in couples , was such a good weekend , the cabin was so nice and clean and came with everything you would need , the hot tub was so nice and warm . Couldn't have asked for a better weekend . Will be coming again
