In the beautiful unspoilt village of Langham sits Ranksborough Hall in Rutland. This large grand house was built in 1893 for Lord Ranksborough who was then equerry to Queen Victoria. These days the hall and its surrounding fifty acres of parkland are now home to many exclusive residential and holiday homes as well as a lovely sited touring park. The delightful county of Rutland is definitely one of England’s best kept secrets as it has been mentioned many times now as ’The Cotswolds without the crowds’.Stroll from the Hall will take guests into the village of Langham with its two historic pubs and just two miles away is the market town of Oakham with its medieval castle, county museum, fine galleries, shops and a plethora of places to eat. For the gardening enthusiasts a visit to Barnsdale Gardens is a must. For the energetic there are plenty of walks with the Jurassic, Viking and Macmillan Ways to explore and with the famous Rutland Water very close by, the whole area will totally immerse everyone who visits the county into joining into Rutland’s lovely relaxed way of life. Enjoy a long and lazy lunch or an energetic day’s golf in the surrounding towns and villages around Ranksborough Hall.

Enjoyed an excellent weekend with friends in two lodges. Site was very basic (which suited our needs that weekend) and the site office closed very early although there are a couple of telephone numbers for any problems.
A great value for money escape which was basic but just what we was after
Most things were broken in the lodge, was not "luxury" as stated! Nothing to do, not allowed in hall unless your a member, hot tub very open to public so not private, bbq filthy with mould, had a very boring time as nothing to do.. no wifi witch was stated too! I'd not return.. waste of money
We stayed in the west wing previously and was lovely, we returned and stayed in courtyArd 1 which was a real let down, very basic and very small
Lovely , peaceful retreat although the empty lodge bases around us were a little unsettling!
Loved it !
A really relaxing place with extremely helpful staff.
Many thanks we will be back.

The west wing has the potential to be a fantastic venue. However the interior is shabby and unfinished in places. Spa bath doesn't work and smells of rotten eggs!! The female caretaker was rude
rude. Ps take your own loo rolls and hand soap!
Wonderful holiday. The only complaint is that the hot tub could have been more private. The chalet was lovely, spacious, clean & homely & the location was lovely with some beautiful local pubs & activities close by. Perfect for a romantic break or family getaway.
We had a fabulous family break at Ranksborough Hall, the lodge was lovely, hot tub was a great addition, the surrounding Rutland water is gorgeous and we had lovely relaxing time! Highly recommended!
Comfortable accommodation, although second bedroom might be a little small if you have older children. Great location for exploring the delights of Rutland and the surrounding areas.
Spacious accommodation. Needs tidying up. Too many loose wires. Obviously a work in progress.
The staff was not helpful at all . Requested equipment that was missing from unit, A few hour later , after telephone call, another hour later equipment finally arrived. but the tap in sink was not mended.
On the plus side the hot tub was a comfort. the area was great for sight seeing.
Faulty boiler, unsteady steps to accommodation, food from previous guests in cupboards and fridge
Hot tubs round the back and awkward to get to. Lodges too lose together, absolutely no privacy on the balcony. No recycling facilities!!! Comments from other guests had not been addressed: cobwebs still there from months back and still no batteries in the remotes. The accommodation was ok and clean enough. These are not lodges though, they are glorified caravans!
A fabulous relaxing weekend for one of our parties 40th Birthday. The hotub was fantastic.
