You could hear the motorway traffic from our lodge.
We paid £18 for wifi but couldn't get connected very often and when we managed to it kept going off so a waste of £18. Other than that we had a great time.
The lodge was in a great location with a view over the lake. The on site restaurant was good with great food and service. We didn't use the pool but it looked ok and the costs of the classes were reasonable. The only thing we missed was a shop as we had forgotten to take washing up liquid. I appreciate it wasn't far to go into Carnforth to the supermarket but on site would have been better than having to get the car out again on a dark very wet evening.
Close to the motorway, so more noise than we expected.
Costs of using the leisure facilities seems a little high for what they are., basically a small pool and some exercise machines.
Fantastic location and lodge. Would definitely stay there again.
Stayed at Lakeland with my best friend and our children. The lodge was beautiful and clean. It was in a great location right on the lake. It was clean and provided everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and gave us information on where to go with 3 small children. We had a fantastic weekend and would definitely visit again in the future.
Good location for touring in a car, however not much within walking distance and it is difficult to walk out of the site anyway as there are main roads or country roads with no pavements. Nice clean swimming pool with good amount of time set aside for no kids. ( I had kids with me, but still enjoyed some peace in the pool). Didn't use the gym or restaurant so can't comment on that. The site could do with a small play park for kids.
The was a last minute break and the lodge itself was fine. We had not expected to be right at the back of the park and next to the motorway which was constantly very noisy. Signage throughout the park was very poor and there was no facilities for kids at all, not even a small swing park. I guess its okay for adults only but this information would have been handy to know before booking. On our last night I went to the bar to ask to buy some milk for the kids cereal on our final morning and they wanted to charge me £5 for a 2 litre carton of milk ! Rip off and I would not go back.
We wentt to Lakeland for a special occasion. Couldn't afford to go more than once a year though. The Restaurant was far better than I thought it would be and the staff were very accommodating with our 'fussy eaters'.
The Facilities on the site was okay. However, I can't believe there was no shop at this location, especially when there is no other shops or supermarkets within walking distance.
Lovely location very quite right on the lake could do with a shop on site
A lovely peaceful site, with fantastic lodges. A beautiful lake on site and lots of wildlife to see.
We were very surprised to discover that the use of the leisure facilities was a chargeable extra. This is the first time I have been charged for what I consider to be a basic, the pool. For a family pass, which was the cheapest option, I paid £30 for 3 days. I was told the leisure facilities on site we're run by a different company. I did however also find out that owners on site have leisure facilities for free. I felt as if they were just charging tourists to make extra money. I would have rather have had the cost included in the price of the holiday.
South Lakeland Leisure village is a lovely place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful and both the restaurant and bar are excellent value for money. The food is absolutely beautiful. The lake and surrounding area is fabulous, especially for dog walkers to enjoy.
The resort was lovely, and was well located for Lancashire and the Lake District. The leisure facilities were great for the children and providing woggles was a plus! The only negative point was the background noise of the M6.
