Overall the holiday was good the children enjoyed there surroundings. A little outdated in areas could do with updating. Had to drive to most places as unsafe to walk. If we where to go back we would upgrade.
Silver Chalet smelled of, and was, damp. The beds were like sleeping on a slab of concrete. There were slugs in the kitchen cupboards.
The entertainment was poor and the clubhouse was not the cleanest.
We will not be either going again ourselves or recommending it to anyone else.
Setting and area beautiful. Accommodation far too dated and very smelly! We stayed here 10 years ago and nothing has changed. Accommodation needs carpets removing and laminate putting down especially since they allow pets.
Was so looking forward to this holiday, but was disappointed when I opened the door of the chalet . It smelled all damp , I had to clean the bath b4 we used it . So we spent nearly all the time out and only went back to sleep .
Stayed 4 nights in August, 2 adults 2 teenagers. Very reasonably priced accommodation. Problems with the accommodation; bathroom was very very small, the beautiful trees cause the cottage/chalet to be damp and no internet signal. The site was very peaceful and pretty but the facilities were seriously lacking. Very small amusement arcade and swimming pool. Crazy golf was so badly maintained it was unusable. We never found the pitch and putt area. Staff were hit and miss, not enough in the evening on the bar. The restaurant was the best bit about the place, good food at reasonable prices. Shop was reasonable price wise. The entertainment is suited to younger families so can't comment.
Go to the resort if your not bothered about facilities and hills.
The resort and our chalet were quite basic, but we only really used it as a base and it suited our needs well. Myonly suggestion to improve would be the on site games, such as the crazy golf and arcades were obviously very populae, so maybe expand on those, you could barely get the in arcade at times and a lot of the games kept breaking. Also the swimming pool, its really small and with the activities that go on in there a lot of it is shut off at times so that definately needs to be bigger. Overall though it suited us fine, the shop and bar were great, and our chalet suited us well. We did have a broken sofa, that was sorted within a few hours of us reporting it.
Dirty Accomodation in general damp mouldy mattress. Swimming pool changing rooms hideous, staff generally in helpful although a couple tried and were at least polite. Entertainment was dreadful swimming pool timetable we were given on arrival was completely wrong and the on site play park and mini golf are in ruim and no fun at all. The only positive is the position which is easy to access and close to st ives and hayle which is what you would expect.
described as set in beautiful woodland I would say more like in the middle of a forest chalet was damp musty and dirty. cooker was covered in rust. microwave grills was full of grease .bathroom stunk of stale urine. bath was stained yellow. no shower . curtains and kitchen blind was full of mould .windows either wouldn't open or wouldn't close so was insecure . bedding felt damp pillows were stained yellow .staff unwilling to help with we had to ring around to find alternative accommodation . checked out the same day would definitely not recommend this site to my worst enemy .I thought some of the bad reviews was maybe from too fussy people but No they wasn't. to save all year to end somewhere like this for your summer holiday is shocking needs environmental health round they would condemn the place . no way is it acceptable .
Really lovely holiday. Value for money and fantastic location. This really exceeded our expectations. It's just what you need, a fantastic base to explore st Ives and surrounding areas.
The only bad experience I had on site was that the only swimming pool was closed off, this was due to activities being held in half if the pool. Otherwise staff and chalet was wonderful. We ended up in a silver chalet which was awesome, we even had one night in the chalet it was brilliant.
location good lots of room for improvements all needs updating decorating good paint outside and doors and windows changed bedding needs updating duvets need to be thicker softer mattress as as hard as rock couldn't sleep
Really disappointed with the site. Facilities were a let down the poolslide was never open the showers were always cold. In the arcade a lot of the games were broken and not able to be played. The chalet was awful, sofabed was broken the place was really dirty and we had mice. Will never go back to the site again.
Accommodation was v tired; worn carpet, windows and doors that don't shut properly. No shower, v uncomfortable waterproof mattress. V expensive for a glorified shed
Accomodation was damp, odourous and because of the age of the furniture and fittings it would be difficult to get very clean. The carpets were very worn , beds were hard and uncomfortable.bathroom fittings were old and worn. No instructions to turn off the immersion so we had scolding water for nearly a week untill i realised that to turn it off just remove the plug from the socket. Check in staff were rude and unhelpfull and reception was barely manned and never answered the phone.
Fantastic time had by all, the chalet is basic but clean and well looked after....you have all you need for a base to travel to some fantastic places, only problem we had was the distance with my mum finding the trek to reception and bus stop a little much, but overall a fantastic holiday for myself and my 3 girls who had a fantastic time, also brilliant place to take your dog with great walks, only drawback there even though we took out the insurance on the chalet to have my little dog with us, you can not leave them alone in the chalet....would go back next year. Thank you for a great time to all the staff there, so helpful and polite.
