Talacre usually have fantastic swimming facilities unfortunately they were closed due to refurbishment. We were told about this and our holiday cost was reduced so we were happy with this...We did wonder why refurbishment wasn't started after new year...The sites closed for 3 months then.

Great staff, good quality lodge, good facilties. Some facilties out of season but what was available was very good. No shop at least most of the shop was not there due to re-furb. Good take away, did not get chance to try the club. Reception staff and team were so helpful - they defintely made the holiday.

Could have done with a bit more evening activity, enjoyed the day time archery & frisbee golf very helpful staff. Hot tub nice experience well maintained. Had some problems with heating on last day. Draws in freezer damaged so door would not shut, Dish washer stopped working at the end of week. All problems reported prior to departure. Overall reasonable accommodation probably suffering from end of season wear & tear.

This was our second year at Beech Tree Lodge, Talacre. We were charged the same amount of money even though the pool was closed for refurbishment and the shop was near enough empty of provisions. This meant we had to do an unexpected trip into Prestatyn to buy items we were able to purchase at the shop last year (even though it was around the same time). We were not made aware that the shop would be running down its stock. I've scored the helpfulness of staff low as we didn't have any contact with staff as such, only the security guard who gave us our passes when we arrived. Very disappointing compared to our first visit.

We really loved our accommodation, but the site offered absolutely nothing, the shop was run down ready for closing, there was constantly a long wait to go swimming, the children were unable to get on any activities due to full lists, sickness, changing classes, the nights when good entertainment was on the club couldn't hold nearly enough people.

We had a fab holiday. However, our lodge was not easy walking distance for our daughters (aged 9 and 7) to go to on their own (to play air hockeyetc). Outside of lodge could have been made cleaner.

Excellent accommodation - we were pleasantly surprised and loved it. But, if the weather had been bad there wasn't much to do we thought. As the weather was good we could get out and about. All said and done, it was a late in the year break so we were very happy with it and would do that again.

Stayed in Lodge which was well appointed and well positioned near the entrance of the park. Car parking was adjacent to the building. Lodge came with hot tub on the decking which was maintained daily and was a highlight for all the family. Swimming pool was quite small and being half term was packed so we didn't stay long but did use the sauna and the hot tub. We did not stay for the entertainment as again the venue was packed with children. We used the restaurant twice, the first time we got a table easily but the second time it was fully booked and we ended up in the bar area with children running around and doing cartwheels while their parents ignored them. Th first night the food was good although it took a long time to arrive, the second time the food was cold and had to be sent back. The fish and chip shop sold a range of hot food which was freshly cooked and tasty. There is not much in Talacre itself and although there is a bus through the village, a car is really needed to get out and about.

We've been back here time and time again. It's just perfect! We've tried out all the different lodges and up to now Fir Tree 1 is our favourite. The hot tubs are incredibly clean and the staff check daily. The surrounding area with the walks and spectacular beach are what makes this holiday so special.

We stayed in a lodge this time for a weekend it was , amazing lodge very clean, warm and partially private! Hot tub too! Awesome. The only critiscism i can say about the lodge is that come summer you will struggle to park your car near as there is no allocated car space to the lodge which is disappointing really when you think how much it is the rent a lodge in high season

Advertised as family friendly, when it's very much an over 50s complex, swimming pool lovely, bar area nice, children's entertainment non existent, a weekly itinary is put up but not ever on, when asked where the entertainment was we was told it's not on as there was no children, Although there was our baby and another 3 that we saw. U have a fish and chip shop, food doesn't start being served until 12...... The children's play and cinema room Is pointless, as no toys or soft play, when asked to put film on it wasn't done, no where for adult or children to sit, booked the best lodge but was filthy, hottub wasn't used as each time we went in there we came out covered in slime! Nothing around to do, or to keep children entertained! The beach is not really a beach! All in all we would never go again, unless we were retired!
