Nice lodge and beautiful surroundings, very good leisure facilities, however very disappointing that the bar and resteraunt was not open in the evening.
We had a great time
Great place to stay, the kids enjoy the swimming pool. It is close enough to the coast for days out. Its not great for families which meant that there were not many there, which was good for us.
A truly special stay. Beautiful lodge, idyllic surroundings and superb facilities reasonsbly priced. Lovely area with plenty of places to visit. Would definately book again.
We had a lovely holiday - the lodge was one of the best we have been too, overlooking the lake. The only downside was the lack of free wifi, and the 3G connection wasn't very speedy.
Very nice place to stay at. The golf is excellent and the course is kept in a very good condition. Will visit again.
A lovely quiet location, golf and swimming available, and only shortcoming was the bar being shut at 4pm, albeit in February!
absoluley brilliant cant fault it whatsoever
Ok, we booked this as a special family break to celebrate my sons 18th, luxury lodge, health spa, restaurant and bar.
The lodge was superb, having chosen to go for one by the lake this would be a wonderfull venue for a weekend or mid week break in early spring or summer, bring your fishing gea and golf clubs !
Sadly we were dissapointed by the facilities check the opening times before you book, we booked a mid week break to include new year, the restaurant was'nt open, we really didnt want to pay £30 a head for a New Year ticket and we found the bar closed on all bar the first night.
The Gym and facilities werent open Bank Holiday and closed early the day before so we only got to use the facilities once during ou visit instead of daily, VERY disappointing.
When we did use the gym and spa, they facilities were good and I would recommend them, sadly the lack of being open during our visit did spoil it, when it all looks so good.
it needs to be mentioned that there is no on-site convenience shop & the nearest Asda is a 15 minute drive away......WiFi was not free in the Lodge which is unusual...you had to use the coffee shop to get an hour free.
Arrived at reception as soon as I got there the guy on reception took a phone call, which sounded like a friend and left me standing for a good 5 minutes, he did applogize however . .
Paying extra for WiFi per device seems excrssive
Leisure facilities were excellent, especially the swimming pool which our daughter loved. Setting is lovely, golf course well maintained. We also enjoyed a meal at The Stables restaurant, food was good & reasonably priced, we couldn't understand why it wasn't busier as we were one of only three tables on a Friday night. My husband is keen to come again so that he can try out the golf course.
Lodge was set in a lovely peaceful location with lots to do and see in the surrounding area.
