Very relaxing holiday in a peaceful location. The only downside was the unavailability of a number of dishes on the restaurant menu. Would have also like to have had a proper jacuzzi in the swimming area.
Great place, very peaceful. Lovely spa facilities. Staff very helpful and friendly. We shall return in the future.
The lodge was also very clean and had everything you needed. Make sure you take your own towels as these are not provided.
I stayed on the site previously for 6 months in the winter months while working in the area and always intended to return in the summer months. My return stay this time with my partner was not to disappoint , still a delightful site in peaceful surroundings but now with a swimming pool and leisure centre. The staff were really helpful and friendly and could not do more to help in any way.
We will return and we will try to book a lodge with direct access to the fishing lake.
My only comments for improvement were that the Internet was expensive and so slow that it was not worth paying for . Both of us were keen to try our hand at golf and thought it would be an ideal opportunity but there were no lessons available , a bit disappointing.
The setting for the lodge was gorgeous, overlooking a small lake. However, there are not a great deal of places to visit locally off-site, which would not be a problem if you are visiting for the golf or fishing. The pool and gym were lovely but unfortunately the changing rooms are communal (one for men and one for women). A tad awkward when you are on holiday for the first time with your son's 15 year old girlfriend! Staying with three teenagers, the lack of free wi-fi was keenly felt. The cost to connect was prohibitive - £18 per week, PER DEVICE! Consequently we paid for just one device to be connected but the connectivity was awful and for one of the days we had no internet service at all. The wi-fi is run by an external company so we couldn't even get help from the staff on site, we were just given a phone number to ring.
As a lodge visitor (and not a golfer) the place is clean, comfortable and tidy, the fishing is to easy, too many fish in the lake!
The pool and centre are good, BUT BAR AND RESTAURANT NEED TO STAY OPEN LATER in the evening for the lodge users, we don't always wan't to travel to eat and have a socialise! I know there are only a few rented but we need somewhere to go and meet others from the site.
This is the second time we have been to Tydd, and enjoyed the surroundings, both times we have taken the dog who enjoyed the lovely walks around the golf course, good for golfers.,too The accomadation has everything you need, Plenty of places to visit. Sandra from Southend.
As a golfer I thought the facilities were excellent. The lodge was top class and the restaurant was very good even though they had a kitchen fire on our last day!
Accommodation very good but not situated where we were told originally.
One of the most relaxing holidays we have had, the lodge was lovely and the surroundings were beautiful. Would definitely holiday there again.
Nice lodge and beautiful surroundings, very good leisure facilities, however very disappointing that the bar and resteraunt was not open in the evening.
We had a great time
Great place to stay, the kids enjoy the swimming pool. It is close enough to the coast for days out. Its not great for families which meant that there were not many there, which was good for us.
A truly special stay. Beautiful lodge, idyllic surroundings and superb facilities reasonsbly priced. Lovely area with plenty of places to visit. Would definately book again.
We had a lovely holiday - the lodge was one of the best we have been too, overlooking the lake. The only downside was the lack of free wifi, and the 3G connection wasn't very speedy.
Very nice place to stay at. The golf is excellent and the course is kept in a very good condition. Will visit again.
