Real reviews, from customers like you.
A lovely quiet location, golf and swimming available, and only shortcoming was the bar being shut at 4pm, albeit in February!
absoluley brilliant cant fault it whatsoever
Ok, we booked this as a special family break to celebrate my sons 18th, luxury lodge, health spa, restaurant and bar.
The lodge was superb, having chosen to go for one by the lake this would be a wonderfull venue for a weekend or mid week break in early spring or summer, bring your fishing gea and golf clubs !
Sadly we were dissapointed by the facilities check the opening times before you book, we booked a mid week break to include new year, the restaurant was'nt open, we really didnt want to pay £30 a head for a New Year ticket and we found the bar closed on all bar the first night.
The Gym and facilities werent open Bank Holiday and closed early the day before so we only got to use the facilities once during ou visit instead of daily, VERY disappointing.
When we did use the gym and spa, they facilities were good and I would recommend them, sadly the lack of being open during our visit did spoil it, when it all looks so good.
it needs to be mentioned that there is no on-site convenience shop & the nearest Asda is a 15 minute drive away......WiFi was not free in the Lodge which is unusual...you had to use the coffee shop to get an hour free.
Arrived at reception as soon as I got there the guy on reception took a phone call, which sounded like a friend and left me standing for a good 5 minutes, he did applogize however . .
Paying extra for WiFi per device seems excrssive
Leisure facilities were excellent, especially the swimming pool which our daughter loved. Setting is lovely, golf course well maintained. We also enjoyed a meal at The Stables restaurant, food was good & reasonably priced, we couldn't understand why it wasn't busier as we were one of only three tables on a Friday night. My husband is keen to come again so that he can try out the golf course.
Lodge was set in a lovely peaceful location with lots to do and see in the surrounding area.
Site excellent however you have to travel distances to find places of interest.
£40 deposit not returned for 3 days until lodge checked by cleaners not really acceptable
Most relaxing holiday ever so peaceful and quite. Will book again.
Impressed with site and would recommend to friends and would stay again
Had a wonderful peaceful holiday. Not much to do in the surrounding area so make sure you bring a book!
Had a great time at Tydd St Giles. Peaceful surroundings and very relaxing.
Had a lovely family holiday at Tydd St Giles. The lodge was in an idyllic location overlooking the lake, enjoyed the nature trail and the leisure facilities.
Fantastic park, everything about it was great! The Lodge was spacious clean and had everything in it that we could ever want and need, Staff were 1st class and on the last night of our stay we had a meal in the restaurant and what a joy it was. The food was out of this world, again staff were so friendly, helpful and really attentive and the price of the meal was amazing too! Compliments to the chef there as she was outstanding! Will definately be back next time for the 2 weeks as there is so much to do in the area and it's quite central to so many places to visit. So relaxing at the Lodge and of course feeding the ducks and fish was a joy too. Can't wait to go back! Thankyou for an unforgettable holiday. :-))
Only thing was the directions to Tydd St Giles would be better if mentioned Newton as we got lost a wee bit and had to stop and ask someone! More info on directions would be helpful!
