Lovely peaceful location and we loved the hot tub! The elm lodges were rather close together so not a lot of privacy either in the lodge or in the hot tub! Showers not great but overall a very comfy, warm lodge and was just what we were looking for! Thank you.

The lodge was warm, spacious, well equipped and clean and just what was needed. It was nice to relax out on the deck with a glass of wine in the evenings and watching the geece land on the lake in the morning (the lodge was so well insulated that you couldn't hear the birds on the lake normally) while eating breakfast. The beds were comfortable and warm.
The highlight was sitting out on a cold, drizzly, October evening in the 40'C hot tub watching the stars with a plastic glass of wine. Luxury. We made as much use of the Hot Tub as possible it was wonderful.

To have a full day out touring ,and to come back and relax in the hot tub with a glass of wine is fantastic.

Lodge was beautifully laid out with plenty of thoughtful extras and good storage space. Showers were quite weak possibly due to the water pressure on site. The bbq was virtually brand new and in use, even in October! The carpets are in need of a bit of cleaning - pale beige carpets are always going to be hard work and it was late in the season! Beds were lovely and comfortable, linen and towels a dazzling white. An absolutely wonderful place to set up home for the week.

there are some places that could do with a abit of re- painting and carpet could do with a clean in the bedroom.the temp of the shower is also hit and miss

We had a lovely time, and when we had a slight problem on the first night with the hot tub, the staff were so helpful and was resolved within two hours the next morning , they couldn't do more, brilliant.
The location was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed feeding the ducks that would come to the lodge for breakfast and dinner.
It is a very quiet location so perfect if you want to completely switch off. If you want something with a bit of life and noise then may not be for you.

You get what you pay for. The lodges are excellent

We really enjoyed our stay at Upton Lakes & will be returning.
Great location for all attractions but distanced enough to enjoy some tranquility.
Just one thing that would of been welcomed was some sachets of sugar, salt & pepper (only as we forgot to bring some).

The lodges are now started to look their age and tired.

The lodge was very well equipped. The shower was a bit temperamental (temperature and pressure), but was clean and patience paid off ! Already booked again.
As above I would like to know which number I have booked beforehand just for the fishing for my hubby.

I have stayed in nicer lodges. It was a bit dissapointing to see the wallpaper coming of the walls in the main bed room and bathroom. We enjoyed having the bbq but on the photo on the internet it showed a patio heater which was not present which would have been handy. Fire was not working had no flame effect. Dinning table very worn also could do with a lamp in living room. Very peaceful location.

Booked this for my family attending wedding at Upton Barn which is a fantastic venue and renovated to a high standard. Lodge was clean and basic. Problem with heating dealt with quickly by friendly staff. Lodges are a little 'tired'. Access road- lots of potholes. Unusual to be asked to strip beds before leaving. Handy for wedding at barn however still need car/ taxi to return at end of evening reception-long dark walk otherwise!!
Most holiday cottages these day have a welcome pack and would have been a positive touch.
Unusual not to have WIFI too.
Hot tub not used by family - their choice-
Views over lake and feeding geese appreciated

Stayed in many lodges this was the best so far great time had by 4 adults 2 year old and Labrador would highly recommend
Fabulous lodge equipped with everything you could possibly need with the added bonus of a hot tub & safe enclosure for your pet. Lodges were clean & very comfortable.
Not much around the area though unless you want drive places.
Confirmed guest, 2015-10-26
The site was located fairly centrally to the area and not far from Taunton or Exeter with two supermarkets and a number of takeaways close by. The restaurants close by were mostly pub based food so it would have been nice for a bit more variety but then it was mid week in October so the menus might have been limited because of that. Not that we needed to eat out much since the Lodge was so nice to stay in.
Do visit Exeter, especially the quaint little shops by the Quay. Likewise also have a go at the quad bikes nearby which are great fun.
lovely lodge very clean and quite

It is situated in a idle place to tour both north and south Devon.

Wild and rugged round Hartland Point, then stretching out into wide, surf-washed sandy bays – explore one of the world’s loveliest coastlines when you stay at Hoseasons holiday parks in North Devon. Surfers and sailors flock to Woolacombe, Saunton, Croyde and Ilfracombe, and windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing and diving are all popular on this coast too, while walkers are attracted to the spectacular views along the coastal path. It’s also a working coast, and fishermen still bring their catches into harbours at Bideford and the enchanting villages of Appledore and Clovelly, whose whitewashed cottages seem to tumble down steep cobbled lanes to ancient quaysides. And when planning caravan holidays in North Devon, don’t miss a chance to take a boat trip to Lundy Island, a beautiful haven for wildlife. You’ll find great days out within easy reach of all our caravan parks. North Devon offers a great array of family attractions – life-size animated dinosaurs lurk in subtropical vegetation at Combe Martin’s Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, the Milky Way Adventure offers thrills of a more adrenaline boosting kind, and sheep races and duck trials feature in the fun at the Big Sheep.
